I believe the military is the likely culprit, it is experimentation of new, secret technologies most likely, perhaps it also has other purposes.
Certainly possible, but I'd still think there would be some kind of measurable left over effect. We are not that advanced.
England chosen most likely because the American and English military machines are the most advanced, dangerous and aggressive in the world.
The Russians make better jets.
Perhaps also the wet climate helps to bend the stalks. Most crop circles happen on rainy nights, another rather small but significant argument against prankster involvement.
I would lean towards that being an argument FOR prankster involvement - less people out, drivers focusing on the road not the farmland, easier to bend the stalks without noticable damage from humans doing this (though bad for footprints)

Lets see if this logic works:

Yep, these invisible pranksters(i say pranksters, because we do agree that 1 person is not doing that work by himself , right?)

Now, these pranksters have made this in to a full time job.
Certainly the expertise of geometry, science etc with which the circles are made is not something that they teach in school, right?
So these are highly educated band of pranksters (not groups of pranksters right?Or do you suppose that these educated guys get together in little seminars and teach others how to do it?CC workshops of some sort? <heh>) are driving around England making these circles on rainy days (certainly dedicated band of pranksters..beats working i guess?)

Making the huge geometric shapes on the farmers fields un-noticed, in-the dark , under the cover of rains = because it is easier to bend the stalks of rye etc...

Either they are rich spoilt brats who went to university and now have dedicated their lives to "do free art expresions in the fields" = secret religion/freternaty/group of some sort like say 322 skulls and bones etc.

or is it the government, "Remember?" them?
or aliens... don't see why government would want people to know how to make free energy and why would they express it in the fields... but i do think they are just goofy enough to do it. My bet is aliens :-)

You just have to look at a few of the myriad of mystery loving groups that form, to know that some folk could find great entertainment by creating fantasies like crop circles. Star Trekers, Wikka-ites, Astrology, Palm readers, Prank callers, Evangelicals, Scientologists - the list goes on and on. There are tonnes of practical jokers out there in Uni's, plenty of people want to make a name for themselves (even if anonomously - that they know they are creating a stir is often enough - look at all the unnamed stirrers who work behind the scenes in politics for example).

<You just have to look at a few of the...>afore mentioned incompetent numbskulls and then look at the complexity and perfection seen in so many of the recent examples to realize it is not man made.

But it dont require aliens, the Illuminati, government weapons, or whatever to produce them. Read up on Quantum physics, and you find out promptly that reality is not all its cracked up to be. There are 10 or 11 dimensions, depending on which bishop you listen to that are *REQUIRED* to make the math work out. That my friend, is math, not mysticism, but the line between them is getting fuzzy.

Hominids have been radiating patterns of energy for quite a while now, and increasing globally ever faster, somewhat like Moore's law. The effect of these patterns on these other dimensions is unknown, but it would not take much for there to be some kind of dimensional mirrors to focus the energy and reflect it back.

Many times in hominid history, we've seen some phenomena and regarded it as magical. why are Fractles so beautiful? Does anyone think they are made by pranksters? Studies into laminar and the transition to turbulent flow get just as weird as crop circles. No series of random numbers is really random. The Universe is not infinite, but only 15 billion light years across. Space is not infiinitely divisible, but has 'pixels' 10X-35 meter apart. Four gold atoms on a crystal lattice placed close enuf together form an absolutely *perfect* square. That is, a physical representation of what has always been thot of as only theoretical.

The fact that they are "consciously" picking medium such as maize fields and (I suspect) always make the pattern/image in the middle of the "canvas"=field is a clue that it is not a natural or super-natural event, also there is message in the crop circles is quite clear,(and has been explained)

The geometry would be a universal language = mathematics in 2 dimensional symbols. The fact is that who ever is creating them have highly advanced knowledge of mathematics, physics and superior technology that they are imparting/displaying by making blueprints in universal language for beings that should understand the messages. (judging by the technology humans posess.)

The aliens exist - there is little doubt of that fact in my mind. Thanks to recklessness of 911, now with logic and intellect unbound by naive trust in the authority, you can sort through the evidence and find what is fact and what is disinformation and build a new perspective/model of the world/reality.

The rest of this post is just an educated guess, conjecture, parable, hyperbole, fantasy, simplified rationalization, flight of fancy, maybe even puerile delusions or ravings of deluded mind. :-) .Etc.

I think Earth and humans are like tribe of savages on an island who have discovered fire, while the rest of the world is busy flying planes and sailing ships, colonizing and exploring the planet.(There are similar parralels where we find tribes of people who have never seen/heard/known of a current civilisation eg. Aztecs = 500 yrs. Aboriginals of Australia,= 300yrs. Dogon people of Africa, = 100 yrs. etc.)

We humans on our small island might be an "owned" species, an experiment/zoo/workforce/project/war elephants etc. to them.

To them we are as interesting as to a economist flying in a jet to give a lecture on state of world economy.Small island in a Ocean... just a dot, not unlike hundreds other dots that pass under the plane all the time. The island and ape-savages have been studied and documented. The discovery made the news long time ago...Nothing to get excited about.

Now just like on Earth there are people who want to take advantage of ignorant savages and there are people who want to help them, so there seems to be few races/groups of aliens that have some interest in this island.

The exploiters, owners? Seem to have made deal with our shaman and the tribal chief, where the main clause is this deal has to be kept secret for the savage society. The savages might be outraged by this deal,(eg.The way Negroid chiefs made deals with the white slavers, good for the chief (glass beads and mirrors and few guns) Good for the savages = no needless bloodshed. Good for owners = calm and docile savages.

The chief and shaman know very well how to manipulate the tribe... Dogma + Fear: There are no other islands out there, anyone disagrees they get to be tortured and then burned alive...ok,ok! There are other islands, but there is no one there = our island is a special, and we are very special indeed.. Look how smart we are compared to other animals on this island. Anyone who disagrees will be put in jail and publicly humiliated for being a fool.

The savages displaying baboon aggression and cannibalism would not be a welcome sight in a civilized metropolitan city. With meager intelligence they would never fit in with the civilized world at all, they would never understand or find a place in that big world. Best to leave them alone on the island, and make sure that they never learn how to make anything better than a canoe that might reach other islands.

Now the island is working perfectly.. Chiefs,shamans,Indians,slavers... except for those pesky tourists! Leaving all kinds of garbage and drawings in the sand... Chief already has candles.. He knows how to make matches .. The Indians don't need to know how to make them, they can't even understand the diagrams/instructions in the sand on how to make them. If the Indians learn how to make light fire and make candles, they will stop buying fire from the chief... a bad thing for the chief = loss of some influence over the tribe.

Anyway.. The savages have discovered a way to blow up the island! Not a good thing for the owners.. The experiment keeps failing and failing... time to pay closer attention to the savages again. Need to stop this tribal in-fighting.. Need to make one chief to run the place so there is no more tribal competition for resources.

Now what would happen if there was a natural disaster coming towards the island? A flood or something similar? Would that change the attitude of the owners? Time to teach Noah how to build a big ship and help him salvage some of the experiment/project? = Selective breading.

Now is that a good thing or is that a bad thing? Not sure yet. Still putting this thing together.

Government full disclosure on this subject would be nice though. Enough of the lies and deception. People are waking up.. the black is not white, admit it and lets move on. "Yes, I had sexual relations with that woman! So.. fcking... what?! = no impeachment! :-)

What do you think? Maybe it is time to stop selling the planet for glass beads and open trade with the good guys? Might also prevent people shooting at the "bright lights in the sky". :-P

It's be interesting to know what crops have been used, but I dont know of any maize. Like so many other forms of art, it seems to require a flat surface. We would not know of crop circles made on water because they would not last long enuf. The process happens in the absence of solar radiation. If it is an effect of energy manipulation, that absence would simplify things.

The question is not whether pranksters have made some, but whether they have made all. Halliburton is too stupid to make very many. It'd be nice to have copies of the entire canon of images along with the measured size. Mathematical formulae can describe every image. I'd be nice to know if there is an evolution of the formulae over time.

There changes in the zeitgeist coming out of archeological and paleontology that challenge the claims and assumptions of Levantine cosmologies. DNA shows there never was an 'Abraham' for them all to be descended from. What we know of hominid genetics says that had there actually been a Noah, we'd all be inbred morons by now.

Scripture was considered true, myth false. but now we know that scripture is false. Schleiman showed us where Homer's Troy was. Castledon shows us where At Lunus was. We've found Amazon graves, Gimbutas shows us there really was a 'Golden Age of Peace'. Ryan & Pitman, "Noah's Flood" shows us the Great Flood happened in the middle of the 6th mil BC in the Euxine basin.

The inbred morons dont know anything about it. They are too busy watching sports and survivor shows. Crop circle enthusiasts are just as dingy, and just cause they are wrong about what's behind them dont mean its pranksters with planks. I'm not trying to wake them up to reality; they are apt to be pissed when they realize what's been going on, and fly off the handle.

I'm simply here to exchange insights with other rational sentient beings about what to do if that happens.

While I think this whole field is fairly "iffy," I do have a feeling that there is some truth to the whole UFO phenomenon. However, since I recognize that a "feeling" is worth precisely jack shit in any rational context, I won't elaborate. Sadly, the field of investigation is so screwed up and ambiguous that whatever legitimate evidence might exist is hard to pinpoint.

I do have some ideas about why it might be quite reasonable to suppose that something like the UFO phenomena could occur, but I'd rather discuss that in a PM in the unlikely event anyone is sufficiently interested.

daybrown: I hope you don't think I was picking on you. :-) I was not. Like I said, before, much respect goes to you daybrown.

I will do a more in depth investigation on info available on the crop circles. I have some ideas on how they are made, but small info like exact conditions/type of fields/weather/location info i have not looked deeply in to. Will make post on this later.

Edit: I was thinking today about this(still have not done any digging for facts yet), and I noticed that while concentrating on design and skill, I have erred in not considering the main and most obvious factor in the CC phenomenon.. the size of the circles! Definitely the information in the crop circle is not for the farmers and his family viewing pleasure. Why would someone traveling through the 3 dimensions(air) make information patterns that are un-readable for someone mostly bound to 2 dimensions(ground)? When such information/pattern can only be fully appreciated from high up? And... in universal language? Why not English, french, polish? There are many other ways a advanced space faring race could communicate a message to intelligent inhabitants of a planet. I think dropping a stack of books "joys of making your own matches." in any of the earth languages on a major city would beat any crop circle if information/elucidation of the masses is the reason behind all this. Playing a game with the farmer of "guess what this is" while you are flying over your corn field = also does not make much sense.

There fore logically (?) Informing the savages is not the reason for the making of crop circles. :-S

Maybe it is meant for the aliens from savages? Not government, not hoax, but a smart, highly skilled and very dedicated person/persons
trying to get attention. Communicate messages? = This makes much more sense....Any ideas? More on this latter.

but just in case they do.. we have law against that ) and then we will think you are crazy. ;-)

James,
I believe the military is the likely culprit, it is experimentation of new, secret technologies most likely, perhaps it also has other purposes.

Certainly possible, but I'd still think there would be some kind of measurable left over effect. We are not that advanced.
From what I have read, there is. There have been effects on many electronic devices. Also, the grass stalks are bent from a high heat which does not destroy, the grass stalks are bent in quite perfect and overlapping sheaves, and the occasional animal has been found fried and dried at the periphery. None of this sounds like merry pranksters.
The Russians make better jets.
Naturally. They're smarter. And the soviets made many interesting experiments, too. But, I think the American military industrial complex is way ahead of the rest of society, and is the main developer of new inventions. So they can have technology that has not yet been released to the world. No known technology could produce the crop circles, but it may be that such technologies do exist in secret. Also, I find that the military is often nearby,
and seems to take an interest in suppressing serious inquiry. As they do with many other phenomena.

I'm not against the UFO idea, and I do believe aliens have been to our planet before. I just don't particularly see the need to invoke aliens when I have my conspiracy theories to exercise.
Truth is a pathless land.

Wow. I knew GF was full of nuts, but I didn't realize it was full of such idiocy... people seriously proposing aliens and quantum mechanics as explanation for the crop circles?.. Amazing, truly amazing.

Every thinking person knows it was the Illuminati in conjunction with the aliens living under the Giza pyramid. :)

The crop circles are made by aliens, because they contain quantum physics examples that currently I am the only person that understands them. They totally scare me, because the warnings hidden inside them are extremely frightening. There is a situation happening on Earth that you are better off not knowing about. Believe me, and don't try to find out about them. You will not be happy.

More on crop circles. Evidence points to them being made by human inteligence. Programmable robotic "toy" is my guess.

Those pictures aren't the same as the crop circles. Just similar. It is always possible to find something similar to something else. Type a word in google images, and you get about 10 similar pictures all of different things.

I know this is not exactly the type of wormhole used for travel purposes but it goes to show you that it is likely that we could eventually become aware of the technological requirements to use them for that.

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news ... holes.html

Come to think of it this fits a little with what my cousin and I saw as each light dissapeared one by one and it either did use a wormhole for travel or it used the electromagnetic cloaking concept.

Either way that is pretty neat.

Interesting article - makes one wonder, but I still reckon it is falsely imagined pumped up stuff.
Seems to be too much cheering on of such folks. I just wish we could see for instance, records of interview with the 80 air force personal mentioned below. I'd bet it would turn out to not be supported by such interviews. Just folks making a big deal out of nothing for their ego's sake.

I remain a skeptic because of the vast distances involved in space, not that there are not other intelligent life forms out there, there would certainly be some. Until i see better supproted evidence, and indications that large object can be made to travel at immense speeds, I'll remain unconvinced.

I touched a UFO: ex-air force pilot

A group of former pilots who have recounted seeing strange phenomena in the sky has demanded the US government reopen an investigation into UFOs.

Several pilots offered dramatic accounts of witnessing UFOs - including a transparent flying disc and a triangular craft with mysterious markings - as they insisted their questions needed to be taken seriously more than 30 years after the US file was closed.

"We want the US government to stop perpetuating the myth that all UFOs can be explained away in down-to-earth, conventional terms," said Fife Symington, former governor of Arizona and air force pilot who says he saw a UFO in 1997.

"Instead our country needs to reopen its official investigation that it shut down in 1969," Symington said.

"We believe that for reasons of both national security and flight safety, every country should make an effort to identify any object in its airspace," said a statement from the 19 former pilots and government officials from around the world.

The subject of UFOs came up in a recent debate among US presidential candidates, with Democrat Dennis Kucinich saying he once saw a UFO - making him the object of ridicule and jokes by late night television comedians.

Sceptics say UFO sightings are merely aircraft, satellites or meteors re-entering the Earth's atmosphere.

But the retired pilots spoke to a sympathetic audience of UFO "believers" who heard them recall their encounters with seemingly other-worldly objects appearing out of the sky.

"Nothing in my training prepared me for what we were witnessing," said James Penniston, a retired US Air Force pilot, as he described seeing and touching a UFO when he was stationed at a British air base in Woodbridge.

He said he saw an inexplicable triangular craft in a clearing in the woods with "blue and yellow lights swirling around the exterior".

The UFO was "warm to the touch and felt like metal," Penniston said. One side of the craft had pictorial symbols and "the largest symbol was a triangle, which was centred in the middle of the others," he said.

Then after 45 minutes the light from the object "began to intensify" and it then "shot off at an unbelievable speed" before 80 Air Force personnel, he said. "In my logbook, I wrote 'speed: impossible'."

Rodrigo Bravo from Chile's air force said UFOs needed to be studied but lamented that the media often belittle the sightings.

"Sadly the UFO subject has been contaminated with false information, out of touch with reality, provided by unqualified people to the media," Bravo said.

"One of our most important civil aviation cases occurred in 1988, showing that unidentified flying objects can be a danger for air operations," he said.

"A Boeing 737 pilot on a final approach to the runway at the Puerto Montt airport suddenly encountered a large white light surrounded by green and red."

The pilot took a sharp turn to avoid a collision, according to Bravo.

The panel included a former Iranian fighter pilot, Parviz Jafari, who said in 1976 he tried in vain to fire from his jet at an "object which was flashing with intense red, green, orange and blue light" over Tehran.

But when he approached, "my weapons jammed and my radio communications garbled".

A former Air France captain, Jean-Charles Duboc, said in 1994 he and his crew saw "a huge flying disc" near Paris with a diameter of about 300 metres that left no sign on radar.

The disc "became transparent and disappeared in about 10 to 20 seconds," Duboc said.

The former pilot said like other major airlines Air France was mindful of its image and it was difficult to raise the subject of UFOs.

A former official with the Federal Aviation Administration, John Callahan, said government agencies discourage inquiries into UFOs.

"'Who believes in UFOs?' is the kind of attitude of the FAA all the time," he said.

"However, when I asked the CIA person: 'What do you think it was,' he responded 'a UFO'."

When Callahan suggested the government tell Americans about a UFO, the CIA official allegedly told him: "'No way, if we were to tell the American public there are UFOs they would panic."'

Jamesh: I have been doing little digging and there is so much info out there to sift through, that I had no time to post any of it or properly analyze. There is just not enough hours in a day. There is a monumental cover-up that "unbiased and free media" has engaged under the pressure of elite, ie. military industrial complex and other monopolistic business.

The information is out there despite that on the internet. I am of the opinion that the current crop circles are man made to be observed by the ufos, just like the ancient "crop circles" = the ones Eric von Daniken talks about.

People have been doing it for long time. (Nazca lines web page link)
