GOD

What is God, how is it that God is so influential, so utterly followed by masses of people world-wide, praised and worshiped by millions, why?

Because words are powerful, people have faith in God's words.

But, who created God as Dan put forth to me one day, God self-created from something that was on earth before God was, what was that something, the Bible says the earth was void until the heavens and earth were created. How could God create itself from nothing, therefore it had to have been something.

What was that something?

To be continued...

That something was sentience. There was no answer, hence God.

There is something beyond forms and time and all that, and it doesn't help to know that it's there if we know absolutely nothing about it and have to consider only the speculations of the philosophers and religious thinkers. It's nice to think about, but it offers nothing of substance on which one can actually take in hand and say "I got it."

The above statement came about because I had to consider what has been presented in the above, inclusive of my writing, and I came to a very difficult conclusion which made me ask myself: if there is Something beyond forms and time, then It must be of principles and patterns which has not changed from the cause and effect, nor the effect and cause because the principle of the cause is also the principle which govern the pattern of the effect - Alpha/Omega -. All within the structure of man's awareness of that Something, whether it is believed real or not is of the flesh and flesh is not an original element of creation, and thus the mind within flesh is neither an element which can logically reason That Something's intent and purpose concerning anything the mind is aware of. Therefore the conclusion reached: -the flesh mentality must be adhered, as all rudiments of creation to the principles and patterns of the statutes and orddinances of the Law of the Lord for man to break through the mind and allows one to enter into that Something's place of rest, which Jesus The Christ resurrection did, not Jesus the Son of man.

That Something is not sentient because man is not the beginning term of his being, and thererore, cannot be the final term of his being,

What is God? What is a metaphor? Can God or the metaphor be known or duplicated by a mind that is of that unknown Something?

One can never go beyond the mind if one does not go through the mind to get beyond - jufa

You misunderstood me, as is to be expected.

Sentience in man, gave rise to the false notion of god/creator/omniscience, in the absence of more accurate information about the nature of the ecosystem that humans arose from.

So all the laws of physics were suspended during some period in prehistory such that matter began to organize itself in such a way and somewhere along the line life just happened?

Thank you all for your education, I greatly appreciate your thoughts on this matter.

Jufa, you make alot of sense to me in most of your posts.

Please excuse my ignorance but could someone explain to me what sentient means in reference to God?

Thank you all.

I believe prince was saying God is an artifact of sentience which he he claims elsewhere is merely an anomaly of nature. This is of course an old saw, and, unlike many things which are repeated endlessly, this one never assumes the status of Truth.

What came first? The chicken or the dinosaur? I think it is evolution that has come this far...Like, what stars are made of is a matter. The species inherits the earth, God dies, or is isolated. There...A=A

While it is difficult to refute paco's logic, I believe menses-maniac was inquiring why god is so influential. The answer of course must be that he knows the right people.

When did God die? How come no one told me? Where is He/She/It buried? Oh me oh my, is God really dead? How did He/She?It die? What year, month, day, hour, minute? Did God die from nature causes? Tell me Paco, when did God die? Where was God's funeral at, and when was it held?

The older you get the more you're reading the Bible (cramming for the finals).

The word God is a metaphor for That which made man aware of himself. The only influential power given to this metaphor that made man aware of himself, is born of man's lack of knowledge that the word God is a metaphor, and only a metaphor.

Nice motto for a Christian.

"Never" means under no circumstances whatsoever.

"a person" means any person in this context, since we are using the quantifier "never."

Wouldn't want someone like that on my team.

I think that something is presently beyond the comprehension of man. I once read a book and it said "there will be a time when all the mysteries of God will be revealed". Nobody knows, but definitely it will come.
