That would have been funnier except that many Xians really think like that.

Give the Xians some credit. Someone appears to have just noticed the vandalism, and the videos have been taken down. Whoever runs this site can spot a farce (but they don't have the sense of humour to live without censorship).

That was you, wasn't it? Good work, I saw it before it came down. Re post it on YouTube - that work should be out there.

edit to add - it seems to be on youtube - here but I can't get it to play. My computer started acting funny this afternoon (I thought it might have been due to a recent work related software upgrade) but now I'm not so sure (and am running a scan). Anyway, there's the link t it on youtube, if it works - the blather just means that I couldn't test it for you.

Eliza, I wish it was me. :)

Anyway, I hope they reappear on youtube, but I think the joke would be lost.

I don't if any of you will be able to view the SA forums (I believe people without a membership can view a certain number of pages per day without subscribing), but this is the thread where I got the links from:

This one will play for me - and it sounds pretty good to me.

God, begging the question.

Okay, someone uploaded "Circular Questions" to YouTube. It's my favourite of the two.

Now that it's not vandalism, it's lost its pizzazz

It was some funny vandalism on GodTube, the Christian alternative to YouTube. The vandalism is gone now though, but the mysterious black-masked man is still on YouTube.

shouldn't we just find some religious forum and pluck their eyes out?

Please don't give me any more ideas. I'm already tormenting a bunch of kids over at the nexopia forums (Why am I discussing God, though??), and seriously considering joining the somethingawful Debate and Discussion forum (since I paid for a $10 membership). The last thing I need is religious nuts to harass.

lol, you must be a patient man. But good on you for doing this.

If I was to pick the one delusion that would change the current human race so that it became capable of evolving faster, I would choose to remove the god concept from people's heads.

Well either that or the capitalists idea that Economic Growth for the aim of fullfilling desires is Good. This is actually far more persuasive than God for the bulk of Western folk.

Trevor, I read the linked thread.... I think you're going manic again. How has your sleep been lately?

Eliza,
How has your sleep been lately?
That I can't answer this question troubles me. I'm not presently in school, so I don't have to have a regular schedule. I'll keep track of my sleeping pattern for the next few days. If I'm sleeping less than 8 hours per day, I'll inform my doctor when I see him at the beginning of next month.

If you'd believe it, I wrote everything in that thread in the last 12 hours. Just look at the time-stamps, if you haven't already.

Jamesh,
lol, you must be a patient man.
Either that, or Elizabeth is correct and I'm about to enter another manic cycle. (I'm really not looking forward to another three months in the hospital, but there's no alternative when I lose my reason.)

Trevor,

I'm having a similar problem. I could not figure out why my brain was malfunctioning, and the doc figured out it is caused by my inability to sleep more than three hours in a single sitting. I have increased my sleep to five hours, and the improvement has been 100%.

I am now writing down every day the times when I go to bed and when I wake up. It may help for you do the same.

Sher, I'm taking your advice.

Eliza: 7 hours (1:30 am to 8:30 am) last night. I was caffeinated, though. But it's still a little below my comfort zone. I'll cut the caffeine (after this one last energy drink...) and see how I fare tomorrow night.

James: Boy, did you call it. I started a thread on that topic, and the very first serious reply was that "yes, money is a good thing". There's the distinct possibility that everyone will decide that the matter rests at that, but with nexopia I can't be too sure. If you want to watch the impending train-wreck: Now I'm talking about money, I guess? (I wouldn't suggest joining in, no matter what your philosopher instincts tell you. You'd have to create an account and wait 24 hours before you could post, two things which both defeat the purpose of a quick, sharp reply.)

7 hours is not too bad. You said that you have not been on a regular schedule recently, so you may have inadvertently gotten off schedule with your meds. If you take them by the clock rather than a less uniform time (like when you get up or when you go to bed) then that could help regulate things a bit better - if that is what happened. Hopefully we caught this early enough that you can correct it before it gets too out of control.

Thank you for checking your sleep, and thank you for letting me know.

Elizabeth/Trevor,

Does LIM = Limit, and X -> 8 indicate this?

While 1/X-8 = Infinity, indicates 1/8-8 (0), aka Infinity?

Steven:

Yes. It means "the limit as x approaches 8".
While 1/X-8 = Infinity, indicates 1/8-8 (0), aka Infinity?
The whole question, with solution, is:

"The limit as x approaches 8 of 1/x-8 is infinity."

This is because 1/(8.00...1-8) is pretty damn close to infinity.

Alternatively, you could say:
"The limit as x approaches 8 of 1/x-8 is 8, rotated about 90 degrees counter-clockwise."
