It is kind of like that disease where the body's immune system works so well, it begins to attack the body itself.
I love that metaphor.

Another way of saying it would be "throwing out the baby with the bath water", but I like yours better.

Oh, and the disease's name is allergy, I think.

S:
"throwing out the baby with the bath water",
That phrase comes to mind often as I read through these forums! I've probably used it myself.

It comes to my mind when reading two of their teachings: emotions and woman.

If the water is being dirtied by an inherently diseased baby, then the baby must be tossed out as well. People tend to be very attached to babies, however.

Maybe a better metaphor would be "you toss out the baby and keep the bath water".

I think that is quite true, Dan; people do tend to be very attached to babies, how-ever; especially if it is their own, including myself I admit; somehow "I" can't help it otherwise, for I AM my baby :D

Some babies aren't inherently dirty, Sap.

Maybe the baby can be helped.

With modern technology, could we devise a kind of filtration system for the baby's bathwater? So that it is everfresh and pure? (Just an idea...)
