For information's sake, I am doing mostly okay with the new board set-up, just a point or three, two most probably due to my inferior equipment.

I could not find a "logout" button after I posted. Apparently the case is that one quits the browser to logout?

Also, I think that I am running into screen size issues now, too. I received the very rare PM notice this morning when I posted, and when I transferred to the mail page to open it, I had the long scroll bar at the bottom and menus and buttons doubled up overtop of each other with lots of white space on the screen. I moved the clicker around a lot of likely space and was finally able to open the message (appearing in a long one-word-per-line scroll down the side). This is the shape of the preview post page, too. I'm running into this more and more on this 8 year-old iMac OSX - upgraded websites whose new facing pages are jazzed up with lots of graphics and boxes - I get the folded-up version wherein some things are covered up, no matter the horizontal scrolling I do.

And finally, I wanted to mention that regretfully I have not taken time/followed up to hear your broadcasts. One afternoon when I tried, I was informed I hadn't the proper plug-in and when I clicked the link that offered me to download one, it was a 120 minute installation I didn't have time for. Will try again sometime. The subsequent discussions are sometimes interesting anyway.

Another question regarding the new forum setup. I don't see anywhere a "mark all posts read" button. Hence, in ignoring threads in which I have no interest, the main index page will always tell me there are new posts. In other words, without a "clear all" ability, the "new post" signal is useless.

On prosilver it is in the upper right hand corner, about 1/4 the way down the screen if you are scrolled to the top. On subsilver2, it is in the upper left hand corner, closer to the header.

On both settings, it is on the right hand side, just above the topics. On the prosilver setting, it is in front of the listing of all the pages.

If anyone is having difficulty adjusting to the new format remember you can always just select subsilver2 from the preferences settings in your control panel. It still contains some differences but is pretty much like the old skin. There are only 18 people using it which makes me feel a bit like an old fuddy duddy who can't handle change, but I frankly prefer it.

18 out of how many actual active posters, Dan? And it's only been a few days. Not everybody comes in every day - for example prince probably has not even seen the new skin yet.

.

That did the trick, Dan, ta. No more doubled-over text and screens.

Ah, yeah, good point. Most people nominally using the new skin have probably not even had a chance to give themselves the option. Maybe I'm not so fuddy duddy after all :)

Hmm, not sure if that's any consolation, really......

You thought you were going to get consoled on GF? I thought realism was the order here.

The new podcast discussion forum renders using prosilver visual style for me, depite the fact that I have my preferences set to subsilver2. The genius and worldy matters forums still render in the correct style though.

I've changed the skin for the new forum to subsilver2. I'm not sure why the personal board preference didn't over-ride the other skin.

It took me a little while to get used to the prosilver, but i actually like it better than the other one. It has a few features the other doesn't have.
