What's outside the membrane, if not more of the universe?Pincho Paxton wrote:It's membrane.Glostik91 wrote:If the universe has an end what is outside its end?

The membrane is infinite, but we live inside the bubble. The bubble is the universe, and the membrane is outside of it.Nick Treklis wrote:What's outside the membrane, if not more of the universe?Pincho Paxton wrote:It's membrane.Glostik91 wrote:If the universe has an end what is outside its end?

really just different classifications for essentially the same thing. the membrane is infinite. let's consider the membrane the universe's potential. if the universe has the potential to be infinite and it is expanding into the 'infinite' membrane, then it too is infinite.

Well its expanding into an infinite membrane, but it has scale. There's also a point at its centre that is crushing inwards into collapse, it may reach a point where the collapse, and the expansion equal zero, which means stop, and then something changes.Gurrb wrote:really just different classifications for essentially the same thing. the membrane is infinite. let's consider the membrane the universe's potential. if the universe has the potential to be infinite and it is expanding into the 'infinite' membrane, then it too is infinite.
