It is said that Andy Warhol was the only genius with an IQ of 60.

I reckon Steve Irwin was the only genius with an IQ of 40.

yes, causality sure struck that genius down fairly hard, what a way to go, a stingray barb through the heart, I guess one can only be a blunderhead for so long before 'causality' gets ya.

I've read that 'risk taker types' such as Irwin get addicted to the dopamine releases in the brain caused from doing such stupid stunts.

It functions like many addictions, one small stunt begets a slightly bigger one and so on and so on until one slowly metamorphoses into a freakish extremist.

One of the last mindless antics Irwin indulged in was he held an infant in one hand while provoking a crocodile with the other hand, what an imbecile!

Jokes:

1. Hey that Irwin sure put his whole heart into his job eh?

2. It probably broke Irwin’s heart to stop doing what he did

3. His wife often complained that his heart was subsumed in something else…

Alright that’s enough, I’d better stop doing this before causality spontaneously strikes me down dead.

I don't have a TV, so I haven't seen much of his work. I did watch him one time and I thought it looked kinda silly. Him and his cohort had this camel on the ground and they were trying to make it all educational by picking up it's feet and talking about how they fare in the sand. I thought that was kind of dumb.

What they should have done is tackle the camel and then spend fifteen minutes talking about what badasses they are and torturing the camel, throwing sand in its face, doing the Chinese water torture on it and stuff. Now that would have been a good show.

The show you want is Wildboyz, which is on MTV, if it's still around. They don't hurt the animals, but if something has a stinger, there's a pretty good chance it's going to sting Steve-O on the ass. There's also a good chance that Steve-O will throw up.

A classic bit was when the two of them got in a zebra costume and ran up to some wild lions. (Don't try this at home, kids.)

Steve-O says that he doesn't actually have a high pain threshold, it's just that he's a total attention whore.

In my opinion, Steve-O is the genius with the lowest IQ.

Steve Irwin clearly had talent and balls, but didn't have that 'keen insight' on when to say, "whoa!"

By the way, was the creature a male or female stingray?
Meaning: boys and girls get a bit nervous and/or territorial when their personal space is invaded.

How did I manage to correctly guess (before opening this thread) that any discussion of Steve Irwin at this place would be negative in tone?

Irwin was a hell of a guy, in my book.

Most all human existence lacks validity anyway. Someone who is a "hell of a guy" within that bubble, doesnt mean much.

Funny how the media only really talks about his conservation activities after he's dead. Before that all they could give a damn about what is banal antics. The celebrity cult circus that has followed his not unexpected demise is sickening to say the least, as is the exploitation of an 8 year old child. But frankly, the Irwin's started that themsleves so they only have themselves to blame for it.

Why mourn his death when so many people are profitting from it and getting tremendous emotional kicks out of it? If celebrities had any real sense of dedication to their fans they'd get themselves killed quick smart...

I agree, it seems this is one of the unconscious functions of the media: to create immortal icons out of dead celebrities.

Look at musicians such as John Lennnon, 2pac and Kurt Cobain. All three are just as active in man's consciousness as they were when they were alive.

Sounds like the begining of a Steven King novel.
