Hmm, for a self-professed genius-comic, your capacity for obvious imagery is rather lacking. The answer is a pair of scissors.

it's men like you dejavu that make it all worthwhile....just one kind word or making me laugh...the difference between life and death.
i wanted to stay out of this discussion because it saddens me how those that consider themselves intelligent have no wisdom/heart ...but are corrupt with an obsessive hatred towards the feminine . I would think such dulistic concepts would transcended an intelligent-genius mind.

So what if some women are whatever you think they are...inferior. It's more inferior to squash a living thing . Mentally harming others and puffing yourselves up as superior shows weakness not strength.

The damage man has done on this earth far outweighs what women have done i bet.
So what if you are superior in blah blah blah. Make earth a peaceful place to live for everyone if your so smart.

Dan made it clear that starting to ban might put him in the mood to call it a day with this forum. I can understand that somewhat: where to stop such traffic control? If it's really a problem, just enable the foe list. Or in other words: change your own diapers for a change!
I agree with the general mood of people protesting against dejavu's nonsense. My views may be superfluous here, because I only planned to return only for this thread as a suitable venue to discuss The Woman's World. I do have a lot of sympathy for Dan. Managing a philosophy forum alone, and particularly one that has been stuck in the mediocre, trivial, silly phase of its fluctuating cycles, for several years, can make one think about giving up the game.

From another perspective, however, Dan's choice not to ban dejavu --- even though dejavu is just part of an overall mediocre mood --- is actually cruel to any lurking beginner-thinkers. I invited my Youtube subscribers and friends to check out this thread. I believe that most of them would be turned off by dejavu's absolutely pointless remarks, which outnumber any other contributions, and are frequently interspersed. It is already difficult enough for the beginner-thinker to follow a line of thought, owing to their own karma. But to have to keep reading nonsense regularly is exactly like allowing advertisements on the board. We don't have advertisements, so why allow trolling? For a board of this kind to permit unnecessary distractions of the nature of dejavu, is arguably cruel to them.

Like I said, my views may be superfluous. I was planning not to return to the Genius Forum, in order to focus on other venues, and to challenge any subtle delusions cropping up in my mind in relation to the "QRS". I think that I've made good progress in that respect, and even if the Genius Forum wasn't submerged under an avalanche of mediocre posts, trivia, and plain silliness, I would still have made that decision. So, I'm not attached to the place. I just wished to have a place to share my excellent blog entry, after closing the Philosoph-e Cafe owing to lack of interest, and because there's no option on Youtube for posting longer texts in an easy-to-read form.

I thought about offering myself as a temporary administrator. It might give Dan some freedom to follow up on other activities. I'd be willing to do this for a couple of months. I'd prefer not to, though, as I have a lot of stuff I wished to attend to. But it might be an interesting challenge.

i'm not looking for solace here...what i'm speaking of in general is that MEN like dejavu have more balls than ass-holes that think they're superior to women...and group together to support each other like sissys. belive it or not i enjoy this form for it's stimulating discussion even though i don't always participate.

Carmel wrote:Combine logic with an overinflated ego and the result is petty redundancy as can be seen in this and most every thread about women that arises. .... The typical misogynist don't generally possess the attritubes you listed. They are neither patient, courageous, nor purposeful. They hide behind the intelligence of other men in a rather pathetic attempt to cover their own insecurites or form an identity through a larger group. They escape themselves at every turn. At best, they're unwise, at worst, they're petty tyrants.
I am - on my better days - a misogynist, someone who fully rejects feminine psychology. Misogynists are extremely rare, and it is quite wrong to associate misogyny with the symptoms you describe. Masculine-minded persons who want to become enlightened (i.e. are still ego-bound) are actually suffering deeply. They are in the throes of a psychological battle. It is not that their ego is inflated, but that it is roaring with pain. It is deeply frightening to anyone with an ego to reject feminine psychology. They are petty tyrants because they desire truth and a strong mind, but are still attached to unconsciousness, so they over-attack anything that resembles femininity. It's not petty redundancy, in the slightest. It's a very important, and inevitable stage of learning, and something one should show compassion towards.

Not much of what's been said here is new to me. It's natural for people to explore gender issues as young adults, eventually, or hopefully, they find some sense of resolution or integration and move on to more compelling philosophical concepts.
I don't think you have any idea about the psychology struggles in philosophy. Philosophy is not doddling concepts at a nice, comfortable, intellectual distance. It is painful and personal. It is, to use a graphic analogy, like inhaling poisonous fumes with every breath. Any person who does not see this dynamic in the investigation of the psychology of the sexes, has not glimpsed wisdom even in a small degree. They are still wholly stone-walled inside the domain of the ego.

Kelly: Just to give you an example, the idea of psychological issues is well-known to be the main driver for women's being obese or overweight (not genetically, of course). Women tend to overeat when stressed. But if one discusses the importance of learning to trust in your own mind, and in having a strong mind, many women would simply respond that they cannot trust themselves because of all the fears and impulses their minds present. They have great difficulty even controlling their own thoughts.

Carmel: hmm, well that explains why I've never seen a fat man:)...
I would say that a majority of overweight men are 'muscle-heads'. Their large weight corresponds to an imposing physical appearance, which is part of their identity as protectors of women and children and aggressors against other men. Many such men don't actually believe they are overweight for this reason, and so would not try to change their behaviour. In other words, they are eating precisely what they believe they ought to eat.

Kelly: But I think it's obvious you believe that a love of truth can help a person to overcome their love of self-indulgent personal advantage.

Carmel: Yes, I do believe that, but we're speaking about a relative truth whenever we discuss gender. There are no absolutes here.
The lover of truth has the same truth whether discussing philosophy or gender. Empiricism is not an absence of truth, but a realisation of the nature of how truth manifests in finite things.

Kelly: So, as I mentioned above, logic doesn't arise in isolation. There is no highly logical thinker who has no will to truth, or courage to admit the truth. To the extent that a person is satisfied with truth, to that extent they will be truthful.

Carmel: I agree.

Kelly: I have, and do see, the principle of truthfulness: a strong, uncomrpomising, aggression against untruth, and a willingness to experience the pain of growth when allowing the egotistical habits of the mind to fade.

Carmel: I generally agree with this...but,

Kelly: I see this principle as wholly masculine, because even though men are unable generally to fulfill their natural gifts in perfect wisdom, or even to reach the bottom rung of kensho, they are far superior to women, who cannot even trust in their own minds. Men are afraid to let logic have full reign - because they know its power. Women have not even tasted that power.

Carmel: ..this is where we diverge. I would never deny that that masculinity in it's ideal form is beneficial to truth and wisdom, but if they are not tempered by some positive feminine traits, they are useless...i.e. intuition, receptivity, creativity, compassion. If these aren't incorporated in the man's ideology, then he becomes a narcissistic clod, too rigid in his thinking and behaviour.
As I mentioned above, misogyny is extremely rare. Suffering because of ambivalence about one's relationship to truth is not masculinity, because it is not expressing masculinity purely. Similarly, fat "guard-dog" men do not show lack of trust in their minds to the same degree as fat "comfort-eating" women.

The "feminine traits" you list are all masculine. I'm sorry, but it's true. Intuition is not a feminine trait, but emotional instinct is a feminine trait. Most "animal communicators" are female, because they are animal-like themselves. They actually bond with their animals as peers, and I have watched documentaries of female animal keepers who are happy when their "guard-dog" animals hurt visitors, or if their visitors are afraid of their animals.

Intuition is a by-product of a clear, rational mind. It is a fast hypothesis, deduction, or conclusion, which hasn't yet been clarified carefully. It is an artifact of reason.

Receptivity is the natural state of a fully conscious person, who is free of all emotional prejudices which stop one from thinking infinitely. It is inseparable from the freedom of highly logical thinking. It is not open-mindedness or being trusting. Many women are garrulously open, invasive into other people's lives, and wanting to ask a lot of questions of strangers --- but because that openness is based on an inability to be centred inwardly, they often get themselves into dangerous situations. Ironically, that feminine openness and gullibility is associated with a deep distrust of others: they want to impose themselves on others to avoid being influenced. They will actually receive very little of what they are told: they can learn and repeat everything, but it is all surface. This is why there are so many female devotees in religions, yet few of those female followers will actually substantiate what they've absorbed in any other form except rite and script. It's quite insane.

Compassion in women is covert malice. Creativity in women is sensual chaos, the kind of creativity of wanting to do something "blissful" like squeezing toothpaste all over the walls of your living room. Even Jackson Pollack had purpose in his splashing, similar to Gertrude Stein's. Most women have none of that intellectual grounding, and so their creativity is very hit-and-miss. They produce a lot of mediocre "do whatever I feel driven to do".
Kelly: It's not about men being intrinsically wise, but giving us a convenient demonstration of how the tools needed for wisdom generally play out in humans. It also cuts deeply into false idealisations of what wisdom is, because so many people think that the natural self-minimisation and efffacement of women is somehow intrinsically connected to being enlightened. It is not: it is having insufficient faith in their own essence - who they are, their importance, their skills, their capaciities - that makes them bashful and hide in the crowd.

Carmel: Yes, thanks, I really ought to stop being such the delicate little wallflower. :)...anyway, yes, I generally agree with this and would never recommend that women should be shrinking violets, but a little civility and grace would not be remiss from time to time. :)
Civility and grace are also not characteristic of women. Rather, it is a superficial politeness, a covert malice.

"Better are open words of rebuke
Than hidden malice."

If you keep identifying yourself as one of a mass, you will always be feminine-minded. The ability to know oneself, and distinguish oneself from the mass-mind, is the hallmark of masculinity.

The essay was kinda badass but so negative - comparing ideal to reality. Much better to find things that are already good and celebrate them! Only through that frame can gentle criticism actually be constructive. Only through that frame will people WANT to listen, when you are their bearer of more self-esteem. Otherwise it could be seen as indulgence in pessimistic emotionalism.

That being said, my fantasy ideal solution for the modern feminized society is a re-polarization of the sexes. I am no a misogynist but I am a womanizer. Women should be respected for their femininity. Modern "masculine" women usually have bad emotional problems. A world full of PRE-Enlightenment/Age of Reason women would be a beautiful thing. I want them raw and primitive and innocent, logically batshit crazy and full of love.

It is the same, you fool. Skipair is describing the current situation, where humans are overpopulating the planet, and, within a century, will be engaging in the most inethical, amoral, gory, and animalistic resource wars the human species has ever witnessed. But skipair is only concerned for present pleasure, and doesn't care about the kinds of suffering his desires will create for others. He is totally normal, "joyful", happy person. The skipair of four years ago, who was bold, insightful, interesting, and strong-minded, is now completely gone.

And I am vehemently against his value system continuing to exist. So long as I draw breath, I will fight him and his kind.

Fools do bad things, but even when their bad things follow them, eventually burning them, they are unaware of why they are burning in the first place. How would you wish to fight somebody, whom has no capacity for personal thought? I think you know this, it is obvious. So if people are not 'struck' into real thought at all, then your post offers warning for other people that may have the capacity for thought to be personal.

As for the 'green' movement, or fad, for msot people, it is mostly unconscious stirrings. It might be helpful to people who feel guilty or fear because they are 'outside the group/fashion' to invest in less energy-consuming cars and the likes, but are they conscious enough to see the real 'root' of the problem?

It is as if they are merely playing by their scientist priest's command, desperately afraid of rebuke from others, making them follow their priests directions in an utter blind way.
Scientists are all that's left to trust, and people automatically form a fashion, quite naturally, in the unconscious stirring-pot of animal life. It makes sense then, that this 'green movement' is so popular.

I think the desires, even the desire to fit-in in a 'green' fashion, is the main problem. It's one that drives people to have children, waste food, over-use and over-spend for products, not cleaning up after one-self, and acting irresponsible. If it wasn't for this desire to fit in, this unconsciousness, we might not all be the blind leading the blind.

Behind all this is all the unconscious stirrings of human existence fueling people's desires. Scientists aren't asking people to think for themselves, they are giving people new fashions to adopt which is a product of desire and unconsciousness itself. Enough evidence that it is not desire people want to eliminate when they are following the 'green' movement.

edit: allowing myself to change the structure so it isn't so difficult to read, I post thinking i've covered the mistakes, but alas, no, there is still quite alot of things to do better

They don't know how to free themselves, so I have to do it for them.

One has to work with what consciousness of cause and effect they have. Concern for survival is what they have, if any. If people interpret this through the lens of the green movement, and a need to fit in, then that too might be an opening for meditating on cause and effect.
Scientists aren't asking people to think for themselves, they are giving people new fashions
I am also giving a new diversion. But this fashion ends all fashions.

Sometimes they remember what life was like before they were burning. A wish to return to that state might follow. Then they can be stimulated to wonder what happened in the meantime.

Go to a dating site. That's what you actually crave. Zag is not interested in "spiritual advancement"; he's interested in entertaining himself - don't you see that, or are you blinded by empty flattery like a teenage girl? It's obvious you aren't in a rational state of mind and barely understand what spiritual advancement even entails. That's ok, but don't expect me to be nice about it.

That you don't like Kelly's "style" speaks volumes about your true motives. You want a comforting truth, not a rare one. You won't find that here, because the truth is not comforting.
