I disagree and I agree. The criteria is that ultimately the broken man is better off in wisdom than the man who's hasn't made any sacrifices.Dan Rowden wrote:By what method and criteria do you decide who is and who is not an authentic spiritual father? With personal wisdom such a judgement is redundant.paco wrote:I cannot decide who's my spiritual father anymore. It's as if I'm withdrawen and cannot find that spiritual guidance anymore. What should I do? Who do I pray to and if that Lord is jesus how difficult it is to be a christian nowadays...
Time to grow up and be your own guide.

My mother gave me birth. That's good enough for me.Talking Ass wrote:Paternity. Sometime's it's a tough one. You say you can't decide, what are the choices? The way you've set up the question, a good place to start might be to interrogate the mother.I cannot decide who's my spiritual father anymore.

There isn't a lot going on in this. The question came to mind, "Who is my spiritual father?" Then, about a dozen religions came up that I've tried, starting with christianity. So, I'm in a bind, sorta.brokenhead wrote:Nobody seems to be taking Paco seriously. Paco, you said it is hard to be a Christian these days. What did you mean by that?

Religion does not provide solid enough answers for the deep thinkers. Religion leads beyond itself. Where it leads you, often, is another religion, but this will just repeat the cycle; you are not dis-satisfied by a religion, but by religion.
I did Christianity, Taoism, Islam personally.
You should maybe look to move past religion into either metaphysics or mysticism. If you tried one of these, try the other.
I should add, if you choose to look into mysticism, that although it is possible to attain enlightenment with no master other than our own (higher) self as a guide, it is better seen as a theoretical possibility than a workable plan. Balance that with the idea that you don't need a living physically present guide - books from the enlightened men of our own era are a good guide

Christianity teaches that to forsake yourself and cause will happen. My problem is I am beginning to effortlessly lead a life of no spiritual guidance. The disciples once asked jesus, " Show us the father." Jesus only spoke in parables, so, it definitely makes sense to talk to something, someone, as your spiritual leader.

You have free will because of him. He is you.Mohamed wrote:But since you seem to believe in him.
Why not make humans in way, that they can't sin?
It's the free will thing isn't it?

I've determined that those correspondent to my post have actually delivered a costly devotion to themselves. Yet, there are some sequences I would have related to the matter.
