A Breakthrough! -- What Now?
Hi All,
I've been reading 'Wisdom of the Infinite' -- wow!
I've now understood that that Reality is what we have in front of us -- nothing more, nothing less. I've also understood that affirming this in 'real time' immediately thrusts me into delusion again.
Now my question is, how do I take my affirmation out of the equation? That is, do I simply practice mindfulness? That would seem to imply a duality, namely me and Reality. So how do I escape this???

Re: A Breakthrough! -- What Now?
You take your affirming of yourself out of the equation by stopping to affirm yourself, thought by thought, image by image, word by word. This is the gradual unfolding of the thought continuum of detachment of the illusion of 'self', also known as the transcendence of belief in dualism/subjective-objective projection of human relativism. The wisdom of belief in dualism/subjective-objective projection of human relativism is an important factor in being able to cease affirming one's idea of time, for if one does not have a vision or have knowledge of why one has become caught in the idea of time, there cannot be a permanent exit from the idea of time.
This activity of being unfolded of one's detachment from the idea of self or of time [there is no difference between the two ideas, they are one idea] requires the full engagement of one's conscious will to remaining awake and obedient to the revelation received of the initial breakthrough. Without this full engagement of will to being wholly detached to the idea of self/time, the hard-won initial breakthrough will be lost to one's conscious awareness, until, of course, it surfaces again and again and again....until one finally takes responsibility to do what needs to be done so that the exit from self/time "will be finished." That is, being obedient to standing firm on one's awareness that dualism is a lie.

So for the time being, it's a question of using the ego to remember that the ego itself, as well as time, are false dualistic constructs? And then eventually, one finishes this process, and true non-dualistic reality can manifest? Just making sure I understand.

In relating to your words, yes, I would say you understand. What helped me to stand strong on my obedience to my breakthrough was to drop the extraneous metaphors of 'self', such as 'ego', or 'higher self', etc., and be aware of the root cause of the arousal of the illusion, that is, of IDEA itself.otiosedodge wrote:So for the time being, it's a question of using the ego to remember that the ego itself, as well as time, are false dualistic constructs? Idea will continue to arise once your will to be obedient to transcending idea is fully engaged, for the illusion that Idea is real is a powerful illusion indeed, but once your determination to be detached wholly from Idea is unconditional - "I will be liberated from Idea" - cannot be shaken loose [it is my experience that many will try to shake you loose] you will begin to relax into the process of the flow of detachment, of allowing idea to come to be dissolved of its "fulfillment of time." This is to be in the world but not of the world, the gradual unfolding of one's liberation of being neither of the world or in the world. When that moment of complete liberation will be, no one can know.

You've understood that Reality is what you've always got, so why should affirming be not-Reality?I've also understood that affirming this in 'real time' immediately thrusts me into delusion again.

Re: A Breakthrough! -- What Now?
This is from 'The Wisdom of the Infinite', and seems to answer your question:
When it comes to comprehending Reality, there is ultimately nothing to affirm or deny. To affirm something is to fall into the delusion that a particular appearance is ultimate reality; to deny a particular appearance is to fall into the delusion that Reality has a particular form. Thus, part of the process of becoming enlightened is learning how to put an end to this mentality of affirmation and denial, which means recognizing and accepting that Reality is essentially ungraspable. Reality is simply what it is in any given moment. It cannot be captured or got hold of in any way. The moment you try to do that, you lose it. All that you will be left with is a useless frozen image, a kind of mental corpse, completely oblivious to the fact that Reality has since moved on.

Re: A Breakthrough! -- What Now?
Affirming and denying is the very activity of the human mind, which has nothing to do with Reality. Every post on this board that affirms the male principle is a denial of the female principle, and vice versa. The Wisdom of the Infinite: When it comes to comprehending Reality, there is ultimately nothing to affirm or deny.
Which, when applied to the house philosophy of the superiority of the male principle is to be deluded that a particular appearance is ultimate Reality.To affirm something is to fall into the delusion that a particular appearance is ultimate reality;
One can affirm absolutely that they are aware. This is the Something that IS that cannot be denied.
Which, when applied to the house philosophy of the denial of the female principle is to fall into the delusion that Reality has a particular form.to deny a particular appearance is to fall into the delusion that Reality has a particular form.
One can affirm that neither the male principle or the female principle is real, which is also the denial of their reality.
Becoming enlightened is proper use of affirmation and denial. Affirming that one is denying the reality of the dualities is proper use of affirmation and denial. Thus, part of the process of becoming enlightened is learning how to put an end to this mentality of affirmation and denial, which means recognizing and accepting that Reality is essentially ungraspable.
This statement refers to the arousal of the dualities, which appear only in the human mind, not in Reality Itself. The human mind is of Reality, but is not real, therefore, is purposed to return from whence it came, that is, to Reality. "Mortality is swallowed up of life."Reality is simply what it is in any given moment.
Reality cannot be captured or got hold of in any way, and when this thought is fully comprehended, then the desire to capture Reality or get hold of it begins its continuum of "being swallowed up of life/reality." This means that one becomes mindful of the arousal of desire to separate reality into the dualities, and rather than giving life to this arousal, gives life instead, to one's denial of the reality of the dualities. Man wants his cake and eat it too. He acknowledges that the dualities are the root cause of his grasping at Reality [man vs. woman, for example] but refuses to give up that which is the root cause of his grasping at Reality. It cannot be captured or got hold of in any way.
Reality cannot be lost. What is purposed to be loosed are the dualities. The moment you try to do that, you lose it.
No image can be frozen, but the desire to freeze an image [a duality] can remain alive in man's awareness. By acknowledging this desire within oneself to freeze one of the dualities, male over female, for example, a desire that can never be manifested in truth, one is properly using the conscious activity of denying the [permanent] reality of the dualities. Which is to affirm one's new direction of thinking, which is that of being dissolved of one's desire to freeze one of the dualities. All that you will be left with is a useless frozen image, a kind of mental corpse, completely oblivious to the fact that Reality has since moved on.
The human mind appears in the Godhead of its own laws, principles and patterns of becoming consciously aware of its Cause, an unfolding vision of awakening, illumination, purification and ascension. What is presented above from the Wisdom of the Infinite acknowledges the vision of the first two stages of enlightenment, which leaves man trapped in his delusion that the human mind and Reality are 'one thing'. Enlightenment is not complete until man ascends into the light of pure awareness that he is, which cannot be realized until purification of the dualities is acknowledged to be the next step; until this happens, man continues to live in the delusion that his mind is the cause of reality, rather than the other way around.

It is worthy to note that when someone quoted The Wisdom of the Infinite, that you do not interpret their post as being scripted horsedung. Thank you, Mr. Prince, for giving evidence of the biases, prejudices and preferences of the human mind.

Pam, your criticism is not fair because Prince might just not find David's book horsedung and the quoter did also ask some open question in this thread, which looks quite unscripted overall. It's therefore not evidence of anything when he rejects your still hard to decipher closed-off replies. It's just a ventilated opinion, really. Are you feeling irritated perhaps? Because for that purpose I believe Prince posts his dung, although he probably takes pleasure in it as well.

There is no Diebert, there is no prince. That's the point.

Reality includes you, but you are not in front of yourself, are you? :-)otiosedodge wrote:I've now understood that that Reality is what we have in front of us -- nothing more, nothing less. I've also understood that affirming this in 'real time' immediately thrusts me into delusion again.

Why are you so irritated suddenly when people freely comment on an ongoing discussion?movingalways wrote:Why are you speaking for Prince?
Isn't it obvious any 'scripting' of a response has nothing to do at all with quoting a book? But somehow you turn it into "evidence" of biases, prejudices and preferences of the human mind...
Question for you, although you don't have to answer, but just think a while about it really carefully: what is the mind but its various biases and prejudices and preferences? And how could we not give evidence of it? By hidden, veiled or unspoken prejudices and preferences?
