Hello,
As I currently know some of the devices which will propel mankind into a true 21st century and beyond, I would be interested in hearing what others know and think about the topic. Below I've linked several relevant sites (which may or may not theoretically float here).
Be warned. ;-)

Re: Dr. John C. Lilly/Future of Intelligence
Dr. John Lilly, Isn't he the guy who dropped a lot of LSD, and dedicated his life to trying to communicate with dolphins? I don't totally discredit his work if he was comparing dolphin intelligence with human intelligence, but the LSD is a little extreme, and a little telling of his character...
However, I believe the LSD gave his some insight into doing some interesting psychological experiments with the dolphins, and he might of even made a few discoveries...

Yeah, that's him, at his most fundamental. Believe it or not, while in an isolation tank (while extremely high on LSD), he was able to tap into the group mind of the dolphins swimming below him. Direct mind to mind transfer of knowledge. May sound like a fable, but having experienced many of the states which he describes without the use of drugs, it's got me convinced. He goes on to explain how while under the influence of Ketamine, he experienced life as many varied lifeforms (his consciousness having completely ascended from his 'mind' and body), and even transmutated into his own neurons and experienced their high speed interaction. Though, what's really cool is his description of experiencing reality at the quantum level. Mind as microscope.

I spent some time at Futurehi a few years back, and left with the bad taste of an embryonic, dellusional, egotistical religion I have not experienced since then, untill visiting this site.
If you replace the enlightenment "preachers" on this site with "post-humanism preachers" you would have yourself Futurehi.
Like this site, Futurehi had its share of ingenious, thought provoking and engaging debate and discussion. As with all sites of this nature, religion and agenda are generally the basis for the sites existence, and very powerful undercurrents throughout.
I do think that within the next century we are going to see the crystalisation of a post-modern religion with its roots in "intellectual" counter-culture.
