She loves getting out of the house. Been to Japan. I just asked if she'd like to come to "the land down under" and her only concern was money. Which doesn't concern me, so is not an issue. :)Am I supposed to be looking at Athena L Salyzyn on your Facebook friends list? If so, then yeah, she seems cute from what I could see of her.

Laird,
Re: The Problem of Suicide
Sounds like a plan. Australia's a great place to travel around. I can help you work out an itinerary if you like - on two separate occasions I've spent a year driving all the way around and through the middle. Might even be that we could do some travelling together - I could be your tour guide.

Guys, this has quickly turned into something not really suitable for the main forum so I'm moving it on.

Laird, I'll contact you on facebook when I can find an appropriate time to leave. Maybe I'll be able to have a face-to-face with Dan and finish my abandonment discussion with him after I've given it some more thought.

That you are too ignorant to live?Trevor Salyzyn wrote:Camus claimed that suicide was the only major philosophic problem. From the voluntary suicide of martyrs (Jesus, Socrates) to the senseless deaths in fanatical cults (suicide bombers included) and due to depression, it is a difficult problem to address at any time. Nietzsche brilliantly described both the appeal and importance of the voluntary death.
Now, be brutally honest. This is dangerous territory, but I can handle even the cruelest compliment. Given my erratic behaviour the last few days, what would be the reaction of philosophers here to my sudden death -- if it were found to be caused by messages I believed buried in Laird's writings?
The whole "Fuck you god, you can't fire me, because I quit!" motto ...I thought of that too… If nothing matters, then why quit?
Surely the moment that is future, is worth putting your pride (which comes from being ignorant) on hold and being humble for?
Hope is really all that we have, it might take eternity and yet the miracle (everything that is life is a miracle imo) that is YOU will never repeat it self...
Life gives Hope of Understanding the Uncertainty that is now. Give it another moment, don't be so arrogant.
Entropy is a freedom you will always have in the end, why hurry it? Leave something more behind than a red mark on the wall in this world, just in case you have to come back again. ;-)
To whom it may concern.
Edit: Just finished reading the rest of the thread.. good there are lots of things to do and see. http://www.funzulu.com/index.php# <- watch #8
It's just a ride.

Trevor, I've just realised where I stuffed up in that thread and yes, it did look like I was trying to prompt you into suicide. It was where I answered your "I'm not so fucking stupid to want that role." with "Must I remind you that what you want is not nearly as significant as what Totality causes?" I'm truly sorry that I misunderstood you, because the role that I thought that you were referring to was the one that I had conferred upon you (the propagation of wisdom), and not the one that you had suggested for yourself (a bloody mirror). Pretty unforgivable on my part and again I'm sorry to have missed that one.Laird wrote:I'm sorry that you could ever, EVER, have read suicidal promptings into my words

To be or not to be... hmmm. That's pretty cliche I know, but maybe you have to be in order to not be and vice versa? Don't mind my banter.

I do not mind. Try the dice, give yourself good odds though. Or better yet.. play a game with the same outcome... it's called life. Your choice of course.ZenMuadDib wrote:To be or not to be... hmmm.
