We might need Worldly Matters again just for this thread..
Re: Accidentally stumbling into enlightenment, and out again
Aren't "worldly matters" included in The Totality ?Russell wrote:We might need Worldly Matters again just for this thread..
It's not about worldly love here anyways.
Or is love not allowed/ worthy of discussion on a philosophy form ?
Ironic.....being that philosophy means the love of wisdom.
How about The Wisdom of Love Philosophy ?
Maybe this will lead to the discovery of Nirvana and Bliss ?
Or...you will get a Big Bang out of it ?
LOL

Re: Accidentally stumbling into enlightenment, and out again
Religions, philosophies, psychologies start out from:
you're fucked
something's wrong
something to fix
I've got the answer
Put me on a pedestal
pay me big bucks
the grass is greener on the other side
believe me
A conversation about 'what it means to be human' discloses that:

Or perhaps we need to reintroduce the "Brothel", the forum that preceded Worldly Matters.Russell wrote:We might need Worldly Matters again just for this thread..
You have to love the spectacle of people deliberately creating an "us and them" situation, "us" being the well-rounded holy ones and "them" being the naysayers and miserable wankers, all for the sake of reveling in an orgiastic love-in. Normally, people have to pay good money to use others in this way.
And all of it led by Mr Anti-Discrimination himself, who is turning out to be quite the hypocrite these days.

Conscience is the final arbiter of correct view?

This distinction you've been foolin' around with clumsily David by using the designators masculine/feminine is a case for correction.
The correct designators are:
void and drama.
There's a possibility here for you opened up now for 'a conscientiousness in drawing distinctions of precision'.
You're welcome.

Masculine and feminine dynamics are part of the drama. As such void and drama are not "more correct" as they are addressing another thing altogether. Precision, Dennis, even with your own merry Hindu band legacy. They are overlapping in different ways, depending.
masculine = perpetrator
feminine = victim
child = fix
or
feminine = perpetrator-victim-complex
masculine = savior-complex
etc

There's a way of thinking that recognizes or is in awareness of the nature of thought/distinction, that way of thinking 'sees' meaninglessness and emptiness.

Drama is the cycle of suffering Diebert.
The vicious circle.
perp, vic, rescuer,
the roles changing places as in musical chairs.
not gender specific.
it's empty and meaningless that it's empty and meaningless.
calm abiding.

Genders are just practical instances where the symbolic mas-fem division can play out in certain ways. It ties to real life that way.Dennis Mahar wrote:Drama is the cycle of suffering. To call it all "drama" is as effective as saying the "feminine" is the cycle of suffering: birth, death, attachment, etc. The point about "masculine" is that it represents a "breaking away". It's no place, no goal, no gender (although if you break up woman you do get woo & man).
Then again, since when do you prefer the more abstract, thinking man terms over the ones humanly stained in relativity, blood and tears? O yeah, since you want to correct and fix it, to know better. Which is progress in terms of Dennis.

I thought your model expressed a while back expressed situations succinctly Diebert.
Run that past me again please.
In that thinking, beholden to gender specific roles fails to appear.

My Ah's-and-Oh's model that was drawn up to talk about the problem of choice? Better think again on that one :-)Dennis Mahar wrote:I thought your model expressed a while back expressed situations succinctly. Run that past me again please. Consciousness chooses reality.
everything we enjoy has been provided thru' the kindness of others.
our day-to-day needs are provided thru' the kindness of others.
choose that.

Conscience is basically the awareness of how one conflicts with perfect truthfulness - as opposed to guilt, which is the awareness of how one conflicts with the herd.Dennis Mahar wrote:Conscience is the final arbiter of correct view?
Perfect truthfulness is the final arbiter of correct views. Conscience is what prompts us to attain that.
I dunno. People sticking their heads in the sand whenever truth comes near....?What's prior.
This is your construct, not mine. Come on, Dennis, reconnect with the program!This distinction you've been foolin' around with clumsily David by using the designators masculine/feminine is a case for correction.
The correct designators are:
void and drama.
The void/drama construct has its uses, as does the masculine/feminine one. It doesn't mean anything to label either one of them as "correct" or "incorrect". They are both useful, in the right circumstances, in pointing the mind to the Infinite.
That you are owning the one and disowning the other is interesting. It suggests that some emotional attachment is at play. (I have noticed how you perk up when women are around).
Don't forget, your own joy is empty and meaningless too....

My mind is empty and yours.
you know you're dreaming contents don't you?
pick up a copy of Sex and Character and make it real, replete with justifiers.
oh dear, what can the matter be.
you 'get it' that it isn't absolute truth right?
I'm pretty sure Elisabeth and Pye aren't fooled by appearances.

Ztone
You've actually done nothing but continue to show that you are clinging to the delusion 'special state'.
..My Satori lasted 7 whole minutes man.

You're right that I have done nothing.SeekerOfWisdom wrote:Ztone

7 minutes is 7 minutes. To each his/her own, in whatever way, shape or form they prefer. I talked to a lady Zen teacher in London, she said her school of Zen was not focused on satori, but on doing good things... Everyone who says they know Zen is a fraud! ;)
To have you explaining this to me is delightful. Who am I? What do I really think? Stay tuned as the Seeker answers these questions and more!

Re: Accidentally stumbling into enlightenment, and out again
I cant read through all this mental masturbation......
From what I understood via first post. You hit said "enlightenment".
3 days later a tragedy occured
Now you feel your back on the path to re-enlightenment or post tramautic insanity
I question what you were doing 3 days prior that caused this "enlightenment" to occur. How did it happen? I dont really believe in this spontaneous enlightment ive heard of. If anything id think your more likely to become enlightened after this tragedy.
Like eckart toile claims "the meaning of life is to die before you die and live again" something like that
I have also suffered my whole life through depression. And the past 2 years have had the only thing I cared about ripped away from me. I know I will defenetely become more "enlightened" than I was before if I ever come out of this. Or I will die in the process.
