Financial Resources for Science Students.

I've considered the possibility of returning to university and finishing a half completed science degree, but the high costs and prospects of large debt from student loans are quite the deterrent. I've checked a few Canadian organizations that offer tuition aid for students, but their selection process is incredibly difficult, as one must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.8-4.0, which is being in the top 5% of the student body. Moreover, by having a GPA of around 3.3, I don't qualify for any assistance. Does anyone else know of any other financial resources out there that help out science majors? preferably organizations that accept applications from Canadian students...
