TV thread

Post by Dan Rowden »

Maybe Im getting old and cynical, or just in a nostalgic mood, but I find modern TV to be soulless, empty, unimaginative and uncreative. Does anyone remeber these shows? They are among my favourites (or were so):

UFO

The Persauders

And perhaps my alltime favourite show:

Night Stalker

Give me The Prisoner or The Twilight Zone any day. Though I really enjoy Firefly and wish it had gone past the first season.

I've only ever seen Nightstalker a month or so ago when I was home sick and there was a Kolchack marathon on the SciFi channel. I thought it was ok, it was cool watching the old man from "Christmas Story" outside the house. I grew up on a steady diet of the X-Files, which in retrospect is a total rip-off of Nighstalker so long as it was comprised of loosely related episodes involving various incidents, once the X-Files started developing its own plot they lost me as a viewer.

Night Stalker was a fav as a kid, though I occassionally got punished for trying to stay up and watch it.
