I take it from the latest EZBoard announcement that the missing threads have gone to the Great Bit Bucket in the Sky, never to return.

You might be right. Impermanence, eh?

Re: missing threads
It's looking that way, yes. I don't know how many boards are destined to have no real restoration of threads at all but it certainly seems as though we're one of them.
Hence my notion of renaming the board "Mandala".

Re: missing threads
Before the hack, I had just started copying my old posts into a Word document, but was slack and said there is plenty of time to do so.
ohh well, as the others have said, such is the modus operandi of the universe - create and destroy.

Re: missing threads
Saving old posts sounds like saving old shit in a bag. What's the point? Wanna take an old, odd turd out once in a while for a sniff?
The only thread I somewhat regret going down the computer hole is the ISLAM thread. I worked very hard on my posts there. But I can do it again and do it better if I ever want to do it.
I also lost the PIGS OVER BAGHDAD thread which was an old sentimental favorite but I can still do the Pig Knuckle salute. Can't recall the fight song right now but my son probably can.
One other old thread that is somewhat memorable is the one that challenged writers to exemplify something using only art. Some rather interesting paintings posted. But big deal. I know where to find Bosch on the internet.
Also lost were first reactions to the 9/11 thing.
So much for history. History gets flushed down the toilet every day. That's why George Bush is president. People forgot that it was Al Qaeda that destroyed the trade centers. They thought it was Saddam Hussein, not Ossama bin Laden -- who's that?
One Arab is as good as another. If you can't catch the one in the mountains, get the blase, arrogant sitting duck. No one will notice.
The ignorance of that is astounding; mind blowing.
History don't mean a thing. It's meant to be trashed in order to preserve stupidity.
That said, I don't think much was lost with the dumping of posts here -- including most of my own.
A good question for Genius as well as the Brothel could be, "How have you changed from your experience writing here?"
Good question. Any answers?

It was partly a convenience thing. I was going to use them to prompt me for further writing or to save time in replying to similar questions elsewhere. I also wanted to keep them in case I create my own website one day. you know - one of those 'that is how it is' websites.
In other words it was an ego trip.
Sometimes I think folks with a somewhat higher level understanding of reality than most [no, I'm not saying I am enlightened] should go on the attack and troll religious or women's websites to speak the truth about reality.
To be honest [emotionally rather than logically) it wouldn't surprise me if the hacker of Ezyboard was so much after money, but was a religious nutter attempting to halt the progress of personal thinking.

Funny you should mention Bosch. just after the ezboard attack, I posted this Thread with pictures I nabbed from somewhere.
