What relation do you think Perception and Sensitivity have with consciousness?

I'm new here and this is one first post. I've been wondering this for a while so I'm making the question. My whole life I've had this sensations that in some way lead me to do certain things, i guess many people feels the same, but in the end it's our choice to listen to our common sense than what others tell us to do or to follow. I was wonder if this can affect and how affect our spiritual path.
