Then you have reason and perhaps justification for a superiority complex? I'm just guessing.

Is it proud to state that only humility can lead you to God? To find your way requires wisdom and the beginning of wisdom is the fear of God, which is reverence in that you're unworthy of the thing you're seeking. Wisdom fills the void created by the absence of pride and only through humility can you find a thing to be proud of.

"Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes."

"Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven."

"The only true wisdom is to know that you know nothing." - Socrates.

In my opinion, to think that God has revealed himself exclusively to you is to think that it's not God that you're perceiving.

Fear of God in its enlightened context is fear of a perceived void implying that God cannot or will not reveal HIMself to you. To have this fear is to have stepped on the path of wisdom.

That's interesting insight, Pam. So fear of God is fear of lack of God?
