All I know, is that I have outgrown the need/desire for sex.
The male/female relationship (to most people), is highly desirable,
and "love" is the parasitic relationship of male and female to feel complete.

Once you discover the fullness and equality within yourself,
the need for love outside yourself subsides.

Grant me Serenity.

I went to a Buddhist retreat thingy at Easter.
I talked to a few monks.
They rock up for contact with an always/already position:
'baby, you need schoolin'

Just listen,
the facade soon melts.
the relief that they can drop the performance 'gets' it.

contact and intention for contact.
so what?

Then talk to me about something which doesn't aim to something else or contrasts with it! Truth obviously functions in language only, like fish in water. And my point, which sounds a bit like Hegel's "dialectic of existence", is that words exists, like truth: they function as part of how existence works. Which is nothing to get stuck over about. However like everything else it should be approached "accordingly" or "appropriately".

Could it be said not being a person (embodied)
is more fundamental than
being a person (encultured).

does philosophy/religion tend to dismiss embodiment as 'loathsome animality' and a point of shame?

Neither. Embodiment is the manifestation of ignorance of one's eternal nature. And ignorance is nothing to be ashamed of because it exists as a principle of causality just as wisdom exists as a principle of causality.

Prejudice, body interpretation, is a part of ignorance; ignorance is a part of the totality. As is wisdom, the end of ignorance also a part of the totality.

All you ever talk about is causes/conditions.

You believe bliss = detachment. It doesn't. Bliss is a caused (temporary) condition. Bliss is your continuing story of triumph over tragedy, you just can't see it. At least I know I remain attached to my story and am working toward being detached. Remember my old metaphor of God, in Christ, reconciling the world unto Itself? Still applies.

Knowing about emptiness is not having been emptied.

I find the object-oriented philosophy blissful.

To take an object into meditation, such as a friend or foe or neutral and wish them a wonderful life.

That mind of 'hail fellow, well met' there-being as reliable source.
That kind of contact.

Food, shelter, companionship, thinking, feeling being objects for bliss.

That mind.
To that end.

Bliss isn't found in the object because a complaint will show up.
Bliss is for the object of meditation.

how the pre-positions work is astonishing.

coming from
towards-which

the palpable experience 'detachment' experienced.

gushing metaphysics at the object? (useless).

Bliss as an object of meditation, for me, is the feeling aspect of consciousness as it realizes its contents are one of the same source, existence itself. Bliss, for me, is the radiant centre of the heart, expanding outward to no end. It is the hug to end all hugs, the kiss to end all kisses, the blessing to end all blessings. Bliss is wonderfull, bliss is glory, bliss is happiness, bliss is joy, bliss absorbs all sin, all pain, all suffering - for the moment.

But because bliss is entirely made of expansive non-verbal feeling, bliss is not enlightenment of the intellect, of voice. What you call the complaint, I call the conscience moving its mountains out of the way, finding its voice, taking its stand. Bliss or compassion or love is absolutely needed as conscience finds its voice, the divine idea of Self Love, but bliss is not Its Voice. It is to perfect righteousness that consciousness strives, not bliss. To become one with its object and to speak of it and act upon it using the single eye/I, I and the Father are One. This vision of unification of subject and object is not, as you believe, "gushing metaphysics at the object."

To ignore the unfolding voice of existence (and its cries are a huge part of its unfolding) is to ignore the drive of spirit toward expansion/unification. One can stay in bliss for a long time (many do) it is that delicious, it is that nutritious, but one cannot stay in bliss forever. The law of "let it be so" demands it.

If you catch the vision of eternity, do you truly see yourself in bliss 'forever?'

Kunga, all I can speak of is my own experience which is that attachments don't fall off to the tune of "don't worry, be happy." Rather, it is being mindful of cause and effect that brings them to an end. For example, if one is attached to a person who beats their children, they can indeed immerse themselves in "don't worry, be happy" but that won't help their fearful children. The only thing that will change their effects of fear to effects of harmony is to remove its cause, their father.

The only way I have found to break a bad habit is to break free. To stop. Right here, right now. Breaking free is painful, but a person of spirit knows that like all things of the earth "this too shall pass."

I was attached to some expensive beautiful buddhist statues I had...so I gave them to my teacher. Later I found out he gave them away. I was sorry I gave them to my teacher...I was still attached..even more so now ! Real detachment dosn't happen when your ego is in charge. To be proud of yourself because you're so detached from it all.. isn't detachment either. Someone can be detached even when they have everything. Someone can be attached even when they have nothing.

consciousness is attuned to get stuff.
to go after

to organise it in a particular way.

contact and intention for object.

the object is an unreliable source for attachment in order to
wish it well.

self-esteem placed in the hands of the object.
handing power over to it.
object dependent.
co-dependent.
it was only a possibility, a dream about inherent existence.
