Wisdom of causality ends fear
The law of causality precedes and includes existence (clinging) being caused. Which means that one can be caused to exit existence but not the law of causality. Discovering the eternal truth of the law of causality, one also discovers their immortal nature. Because of discovering their immortal [causal] nature, one ceases to fear being caused to be released from all realms of existence, even those of sublime happiness and bliss.

Yes, but too often do we see people wanting to "take something with them" so to speak, into non-existence, which almost certainly includes an aspect of their consciousness. Only then does existence become a "clinging".

That sounds about right. I noticed in the human mind a tendency towards telling stories, and embedded in these stories is a tendency towards characterization, blame, holding people responsible as agents of offence, or holding them up as examples of ridicule. The more deformed characters of our stories create a kind of foothold for those who are looking for sources of gratification. The Nietzschean will to power seems very much driven by story, an inner narrative - a need to attack, to measure oneself against another, a need for raising oneself over others.movingalways wrote:The law of causality precedes and includes existence (clinging) being caused. There is this cry for justice in the heart of many people - people who have suffered some peculiar defeat by unpredictable twists in social relations. We carry our personal story privately, constantly revising the narrative of who we are.
This release or exit from the world is largely prevented by the need to characterize oneself and others in a story, particularly when this story comes out of our lips and into the ear of our neighbor. Slander is kind of a recycling effect that takes some initial point of pride, greed or self flattery, and recycles the folly endlessly into the blackness of ridicule and contempt, a rich blackness which serve as sources of more pride and self flattery. This cycle goes on and on.
Focusing on causality tends to make story telling much more difficult, which is why the stories of mythology are all so highly absurd. Nobody comes out looking very dignified, and everyone craves justice to a very severe degree.
The absurdity of mythology is the result of undermining the validity of blame. There is no one to blame, not even yourself.
