"In the beginning was the Tao.
All things issue from it;
all things return to it.

To find the origin,
trace back the manifestations.
When you recognize the children
and find the mother,
you will be free of sorrow.

If you close your mind in judgements
and traffic with desires,
your heart will be troubled.
If you keep your mind from judging
and aren't led by the senses,
your heart will find peace.

Seeing into darkness is clarity.
Knowing how to yield is strength.
Use your own light
and return to the source of light.
This is called practicing eternity."

Aren't you confusing disgust or revulsion with being scared? Now if it was a wild dog....

Contradictions do not exist. Whenever you think you are facing a contradiction, check your premises. You will find that one of them is wrong.

I say that one is cruel because one must be cruel, and one is not cruel because one must not be cruel.

Kindness has an advantage over cruelty, though. Kindness follows from acceptance of what is, and in this acceptance, awareness weakens the illusory conceptual barriers that divide mind. For this reason, until it spontaneously arises, kindness of words is a beneficial practice for fostering unblemished apprehension of reality, even though the practice of kindness in the face of one's own cruel feelings may cause the mental violence of conflict, upon oneself.

No.

That would mean that everything that is unreasonable is funny.

The established benchmark above creates doubt as to the viability of further interpretations, or extrapolations, that aim to establish or refute a principle of humor that would apply beyond an ever-existent subculture feeding on the fringes, let alone to "everything," sorry to say.

Space, time, causation are all delusions. It is your disease that you think you are bound and will be free. You are the Unchangeable. Talk not. Sit down and let all things melt away... they are but dreams. There is no differentiation, no distinction; it is all superstition. Therefore be silent and know what you are... You are the essence of Bliss.
