Sentencing the Human Race

If you were to summarize the human race in a sentence, what would it be?

Perhaps like this:
  • The emerging ability to summarize as well as becoming confused by the splendor of that very act.
It's perhaps hard to top Douglas Adam's "mostly harmless", in its brevity.

The human race is on an individual journey to discover, to crack, and then to smash, the glass wall of his ignorance of his belief he cannot be liberated first of his belief that he is a thing called "human", then secondly of his belief that he cannot be liberated of his human, racing thoughts.

The human race - comprising of the handful of human beings who throughout history have sometimes miraculously appeared amongst apes.

Not quite sure of what manner to approach this in.

A form of the Infinite.

A technical response seems unsavory.

If we were all gay the human race would have died out before it got started.

The human race is mostly mundane with occasional sparks of brilliance, driven but without direction, alive but not awake.

Some of Kevin's, from Poison for the Heart:

-

What is man?

The long sought after "missing-link" between animals and humans.

An ape with large brain capacity enabling him to enjoy crosswords, television, and the atomic bomb.

A bipedal relative of plants.

A rational animal who loses his temper when called upon to act in accordance with reason.

A failed evolutionary experiment in ignorance.

"A rational animal who loses his temper when called upon to act in accordance with reason."

Hah! Brilliant. I've got another one -

The human race - a species of animals which have conquered the earth, largely due to their ability to make each other feel guilty.

Nice, Pam! You didn't mention duality even once!

The Human:

A machine programmed to satisfy biological drives. There is a spiritual self buried in that mess somewhere, but few have the character to even self-examine.
