The Truth Experiment

Post by Kelly Jones »

Aim of the experiment:
To learn how to empower truthfulness in people.

Conditions
- The experimenter must commit a deliberate act of truthfulness, no-holds-barred
- Immediate responses need to be observable
- The context must be in one's everyday life within a person-to-person interaction
- The experiment needs to run for at least six weeks
- There must be follow-up at least four times each week
- Variables should be kept to a minimum, so that observations are as clear as possible of ambiguity
- A precise description of the action should be posted to this thread, along with records of observations and hypotheses about what has caused certain responses over the course of the experiment.

An unclear experiment might be talking about one's philosophical insights to a complete stranger, whose general attitudes one doesn't know; and then being irregular in one's follow-up observations. Needless to say, it'd be difficult to know how one's actions are influencing their responses.

Any suggested alterations or improvements to the experiment conditions are welcome.
