Atheist Fanatics
Why do you hate those who see what you choose not to?
Re: Atheist Fanatics
There's no choice involved. No hate. God told me.
What's an "atheist fanatic"?

Why do you choose to engage in lies and strawmen?crusader wrote:Why do you hate those who see what you choose not to?
Re: Atheist Fanatics
It's not really a strawman considering the crowd drawn to these forums.
Re: Atheist Fanatics
I have a theory that you have to be handsome to know God.
Re: Atheist Fanatics
Your theory seems to contradict the Holy Bible.Atum wrote:I have a theory that you have to be handsome to know God.
It is more congruent to say that "handsome" people merely think they know God, rather, they worship a false God which is merely the projection of their own desires onto an an abstract and all-comforting representation they name God. This false representation justifies their explicit vanity, to them.

Religion is pure gratitude. It's hard for an ugly man to be grateful for much. :)

It's hard for a man rich in self-image (e.g. pride) to enter the kingdom of heaven.Atum wrote:Religion is pure gratitude. It's hard for an ugly man to be grateful for much. :)
"Ugliness" and "Beauty" are fleshly concerns of the fleshly mind.
I strongly recommend reading the Holy Bible.

Jung said that to read Nietzsche required real maturity. It also seems to be true that reading the Bible requires exceptional self-possession and maturity.I strongly recommend reading the Holy Bible.
What are your favorite parts of the Bible? And why?

Big fan of Matthew 13 for the parables, Proverbs and Psalms, Colossians, Romans, and Galatians. I like Paul's teachings. Some of John and Luke. I also like the non-canonical gnostic texts, Book of Wisdom, Gospel of Truth, Gospel of Thomas, Gospel of Mary, etc...
Re: Atheist Fanatics
My philosophic outlook on Christianity at this point is fairly close to Gnosticism, more or less The Matrix Trilogy.

A lot of bored house-wives are into Gnosticism.Animus wrote:I like the "Red Text"Talking Ass wrote:Jung said that to read Nietzsche required real maturity. It also seems to be true that reading the Bible requires exceptional self-possession and maturity.I strongly recommend reading the Holy Bible.

Re: Atheist Fanatics
Well, in my case, as you can imagine, I am really into all the apocryphal stories that deal on the Secret Teachings as revealed to Asses. We have played a significant role in all of Biblical history and yet there is no ass-oriented reading as far as I am aware...
Soon that will change though. I am waiting for a sign and then I shall begin my World Mission.
No one of you has even mentioned the Prophets. Why?

Let's not hijack the topic.
There seems to be a lot of Christian hate on the forums. It's pretty silly.

I've been seeing a lot of threads directed at "atheists" as blind, ignorant and selfish.
If this doesn't qualify as "hate", then neither do I see any Christians being hated.

I called atheists boring. I don't hate them. I don't hate librarians either.
Those aren't real Christians. The minimum definition of a Christian is someone on his way to becoming a saint. An authentic Christian is a saint.

There is no doubt that God loves his creation. I know it, you know it, you feel it, I feel it. You reject him because you aren't satisfied with the meaning of your existance. You make very clever quips about spaghetti monsters and fairies, but this is just the result of denial. You attack religion, but you cannot defend your own position. You critisize but do not contribute.
How was the universe created? You don't care. You plug your ears and call us good Christians liars for telling you what you can feel is true. You reject God in the same way that a child rejects authority. You think it's wrong, but you don't know why. Christians have matured faster than atheists. They realize that God is not authority, but rather Love. Atheists are Christian children. They are rebelling to find truth and they will ultimately find it once they accept what they knew all along.
Re: Atheist Fanatics
God is love, but the way back to love is by obedience to His will. That is the most important point. A lot of superficial Christians ignore this. It's not easy to be a Christian, never was.
Re: Atheist Fanatics
Atheism arises mainly from the brains tendency for duality.
Religions doctrines are 'dumbed-down' to cater for the average human being (ie not too bright) to comprehend, they do not in any way represent the sheer brilliance, subtlety and sophistication of what God really is.
Consequently those of above average intellect either ignore, or actively reject religion, and adopt the opposing view by default, Which is atheism. It's unfortunate, but causal in nature. Nothing can change that stark fact.
With a sufficient amount of thought and reflection, it's possible for one stuck in the atheist mindset to find a way back to God, it requires bypassing religion, and using ones own intellect and emotions to understand what God is at a level which is acceptable to ones own standards.
