You take an evolved seed. Plant it. Desirable conditions. A flower evolves.

The flower doesn't really evolve -- it just grows from the coded instructions in the evolved seed.

I'm a little confused, because you appeared to disagree with me, but your explanation for the disagreement is really in agreement.

Evolution is, among other things, the growth from the coded instructions in the evolved seed -- the seed evolved through similar processes (as nature dictates).

My impression is that evolution theory refers to changes in observed characteristics and genetics amongst species, not to the growth process of any single specimen.
