Re: The Nature of Evil
For me, the next few years will be mostly psychology and relationships. Ditto here, but there is only so much that can be learned through the reading of thoughts and observations written by others. Granted we do not want to do a thing simply to learn more about it (for example, I spent a few years ...

Re: Intuition and the Wordless Nerve
Being real is how we learn. Does that mean 'throw a tantrum'? Spill your guts? Complain? Gossip? Wreak emotional havoc? Be a 2 year old? Get upset? It's empty. Yeah, it means just be yourself....by being yourself, warts and all, you can learn what needs to be worked on. If you hide behind some pret...

Thanks for letting me know that it is a Florida law now that all insurance companies must rat-fink out their customers. Youtube video showing Occupy protestors being covered with a tent by police, some kind of gas used, and 10 minutes later the tent being taken down and the protestors are just - gone.

True cousinbasil - and these things are more disturbing still in light of the 1033 Program which offers free military equipment to local police, then pressures them to use the military equipment rather than stockpile it for possible future use. In other words, if you want some riot gear in case ther...

PBS asks "Are we becoming a police state? Five things that have civil liberties advocates nervous" The major part of the story reads: Here are five issues that are especially worrisome to civil liberties watchdogs: 1. Indefinite military detentions of U.S. citizens The provision, part of t...

Your stand against his corruption is authentic and valid Kunga. He fails to be what he requires of others. An utter braggart. Deep down he knows his inauthenticity. His one shot is to admit it, to come clean. To start afresh. He knows that he is not perfect, and has admitted in multiple times and m...

I too think she struggles at times with her self control. And suggesting to a group with whom you disagree to "shut the fuck up" is highly disagreeable. Not sure, however, how her being banned wasn't an equivalent act of shutting someone the fuck up for expressing a different viewpoint. S...

Facebook could be transformed to be of higher quality, it has potential, and if so, I could remove a lot of work contacts and family so that I do not to have to bother to explain some of the harsh philosophy to. I really don’t see the point, as these people have no interest in philosophy, and would...

Quite true Cory. I believe that this is the major reason why removing the ego as much as possible is important for wisdom. The second biggest reason would be to not make mistakes that one knows are mistakes going into a situation, but done anyway for egotistical pleasures.

Sorry for the truly extensive delay. As I mentioned, I did not have internet access at the time - and I suppose I must have forgotten about this thread until a similar thread opened on another board. If the earth cannot sustain our population, it will decrease. No need to go on a slaughtering spree....

To doubt is to despair. Doubt is good. Ah, now I understand what you are trying to say. I disagree with your parameters to "despair" as that word conjures something deeper in the hell realms - which is not necessary for growth or improvement. Where avoidance of pain is an even stronger mo...

Re: Psychopaths
One thing in particular that interested me was the discussion of psychopaths having no conscience. It was said psychopaths see the world for what it is without emotion and imagination coming in the way of truth. I feel this is a fair description of myself but this leads me to a question. . . What e...

Re: Despair
I just want to be clear - despair is a flaw, but it is also a critical part of the means with which to rid oneself of flaw. Disagreed. Despair can prompt reform, but so can aspiration. By assigning the value "critical" to despair, one forms an attachment to an emotion and feeds an addicti...

There are many different concepts of enlightenment, but at the very least, each concept either implicitly or explicitly contains a concept of maturity. Unfortunately that term is almost as difficult to universally define with complete precision.Scorched Soul wrote:People may have their own concept of enlightenment

Have a look at KIR, where pictures run rampant. The place is spiritually dead. I disagree that KIR is spiritually dead. KIR is more about integrating spirituality into the world as it is. When you put fingers to keyboard, you are forming a part of the infinite chain of causality, it only begins with "you" in your puerile mind, because you fail to comprehend infinity. Not your fault though, having the inane mindset in common with the jufa loofah. Blair, the Ultimate's Anti-...

NOAA's current article on ocean acidification as it relates to global warming.
