Re: Enlightened Almost enlightened deluded/hyped & Philosopher t
A lot of people take the different teachings too literally. No-self doesn't mean "no self," it means an intimate understanding of self and the surrounding world as one and the same. There is no such thing as perfect enlightenment. There's no final level, like in a computer game. There's al...

Re: Death
Nobody really believes in an afterlife. People might think they do, but belief isn't what you think. If you're at all sad when someone or something dies, you don't believe.

Re: The World of Woman - Rich Zubaty & Sue Hindmarsh
No, we conflate all that is unconscious with the feminine. You don't seem to understand that our only real interest in this lies in its relationship to consciousness and wisdom. The political, psychological and sexual observations are merely tools to demonstrate practical manifestations of these th...

Re: Rationalism as Religion
Or hope, which is a sort of uncertain faith in the future. The whole world is based on belief; so what of it?

Re: Absolute truth
I would say consciousness is fundamental to truth. In what sense do you mean fundamental and how so? You said there could be no consciousness without truth. That may be true in a sense, but the other way around would be more accurate. Truth can be debated, consciousness is . Maybe they're one and t...

Re: The World of Woman - Rich Zubaty & Sue Hindmarsh
A man will never be free (to be a man) until he no longer cares what women think of him. Or what anyone else thinks of them. Well, you can care; but don't make that your ultimate authority. It really depends on if you want to go all the way with your conscious individuality or not. The spiritual li...

Re: Absolute truth
I would say consciousness is fundamental to truth. The only "Nature" truth has is No-Nature; just like everything else, empty, transient, dependent, lacking. What ridiculous nihilistic nonsense. No-nature is not the ONLY nature anything has. Look around you and show me some no-nature - den...

Re: The World of Woman - Rich Zubaty & Sue Hindmarsh
Women are not men. They're different. To compare men to women and then judge as to which is better or worse would obviously indicate some bias either way. How can you judge perceptions impartially through your own perception? There's no need to judge at all; but if you do, realize that your percepti...

Re: Why is there this subjective consciousness
there is, in Absolute Reality, no such thing as subjectivity. Since everything is part of the Totality, the individual does not have an inherent existence, as such subjectivity really does not exist. Everything that an individual experiences, comes from the Totality, in which other individuals expe...

Re: New Age
The public "new age" probably started with Helena Blavatsky and the theosophical movement in the 1800's. All the hidden "mystical" cores of religions would be considered new age if revealed outside of the context of the surface religions.
