I don't know why I should click on a link. YOu think I'm a monkey? I click on what I want. This is cool. I'm sitting in a loud bar with my laptop on the edge of Waikiki. No windows here - just palm trees and the ocean. A bunch of candles and poles with flames coming out of them. The band is singing ...

Ryan, I did not click there. But really, if you fellows were not so self-satisfied and complacent in your academic fog bank, I would not feel tempted to antagonize you with the rays of the Waikiki sun. If you really think a computer will ever become self aware, you have a fundamental misunderstandin...

Never mind 'quantum.' A computer will never be self aware. It doesn't matter how fantastically complex it is. Why is this? In other words, if the most sophisticated computer a million years from now will not be self aware, then how does the brain make one self aware? Does it?

Always remember that Freddy boy went insane as you will as well if you follow his advice. Also, this is a put down of his colleagues Schopenhauer and Wagner.

Enlightened Man Has Question

I like to stop in every now and then and ask something of the global genius people. I ask this for their own benefit as I no longer have any questions myself. Well, sure, I would like to know when dinner will be ready or how much a day George Bush drinks or who is sleeping with that male prostitute ...

Is there a memory of it, or what is the effect upon the person when they 'come to'? Pye's 'glimpse' will not be forgotten. He saw the Cosmic Self - the great Universal Self shared by all. In realization the Cosmic Self in it's thoughtless state continues to be the base of the new 'ego.' The other '...

Pye said: I tell a strange experience to you, Iaolus, from the deepest year of meditation practice (some time ago) -- a little phenomenon that began rising in the thick of it . . . . A few times when I was sitting, when it got easier and easier and without effort to silence the internal narrator, wh...

I thought I would let this food fight continue on indefinitely without my presence, but when I saw the following quote from the Buddha and a faulty interpretation assigned to it, well, I am duty bound to correct it. The Buddha said, "The absence of thought is the state of the unconditioned.&quo...

But you're not understanding. Where can your dream world come from but your own mind? This is also the source of the waking world. You are dreaming up everyone you see. You are dreaming me. You are dreaming up apple-dropping gurus who only exist in your mind. You are dreaming up global warming that ...

I'm not saying a powerful person can't influence the weather, but most people can't, and if a whole bunch of apple-dropping gurus got together and had a weather contest, in teams, what would happen then? haha. You make me smile. Nemo here. Imagine when you first experience enlightenment and you sud...

Hello Birdy! I've missed talking with you. Hope you are well. Your post is, as usual, far above the riff raft and causes me to sharpen my pen and focus. Usually, just a few snide remarks and generalizations is all that is required. hehe So let's see here.... Or to what do you attribute the stability...

If we want to say that causality is not necessarily one to one, then, yes, we can say causality exists in the quantum world. That is, if we can say that 'y is the most likely result of x,' but that x may also be the cause of p and t' - then we can define causality in those terms. What is most intere...

If you read some of the recorded studies of 'synchronicity,' you will find examples of a-causal activity. The paranormal world is full of similar examples. A person has a dream and the next day something happens exactly as in the dream. How is this understood by causality? Also, there are many pheno...

Like I said, any activity will cut off inner dialogue and focus the mind on 'what is.' Then everything is fine. In the East it is called Zen. Out here it could be called skiing or fucking.

David does a lot of psychoanalysis of me without a license. He claims to know that I do not mean what I say, that I am not as far along as his devotees which flatters them, and that I cling to this world and its baubles out of a fear of something or other. Meanwhile he sets himself up on the power o...

I'm not sure if that's definition quite covers what you are saying, but I understand your use in context. Specifically, I don't think you want to say ego that the ego itself is a "state". Trevor, I am using 'ego' in this sense on purpose. I also use 'cosmic self' on purpose. I do not want...

How would you know about enlightenment unless you were yourself enlightened? All the sources say that you must experience to know. If you are not enlightened, ask...

Let's talk a bit about 'World-appearing' as this is the world everyone is familiar with and the one that is analyzed here at Spock Central. The 'wakeful world' and the 'dream world' are only different in their degree of stability. They are both created by the imagination of ego. They are unreal. So,...
