Re: Your concept of Rebirth
I believe humans are they personification of boredom. Unlike every other life form on this planet we don't have to spend 99% of our lives looking for food, hunting for mates, and fending off aggressors. I don't see that there need be an afterlife or continuation of my consciousness after I die becau...

Re: Hitler's gas chambers mere fiction?
Perhaps Spielberg needs a good slap in the face then. You would think he would be intelligent enough by now to realize this upbringing but I guess not, too many awards to handle. Why weren't you able to watch those videos???? Also, click on the links above on the frontpage (Konrad Morgen | New vide...

Re: abortion and morals
Fair enough, and I don't know much about how adoption and foster homes are currently functioning, but I do know that life is an experience, and it seems likely that death offers nothing. Isn't it preferable to be experiencing *something* in your childhood rather than nothing, so long as you're not ...

Re: abortion and morals
Having a child and putting it up for adoption hardly solves the problem... Adoption centers all over the world are overloaded because there simply aren't enough parents to care for every child put up for adoption (or at least enough parents that any given agency feels are fit). Maybe we should also ...

Re: Hitler's gas chambers mere fiction?
Btw, have you READ the Talmud? It's full of racism and Jewish supremacy, not to mention supporting paedophilia I love it when people start throwing this claim around...it really makes my day. Do we want to start comparing idiotic things that religious texts condone? There probably isn't a Christian...

Re: Hitler's gas chambers mere fiction?
I think this is a popular myth. Is it really true? I'd say the rule that you're Jewish if your mother is Jewish is an old matriarchal rule, and also a bit of common sense - you usually can be pretty sure who your mother is. But that was probably meant to apply in the case where the person wanted to...

Re: Hitler's gas chambers mere fiction?
how is it not a sound logical argument?? Zionists have certainly been influenced by the Talmud. And it doesn't do justice to the Real Jews that despise Zionism but have their reputation tarnished. I know that no religious text is worthy, it's just that for some peculiar reason you don't hear anythi...

Re: Hitler's gas chambers mere fiction?
yes HE is involved, and he gets awards for it!! like that stupid movie, Shoah. Instead of reminding Blacks and Native Americans about their persecuted people, he tells them to wail and sob for the poor Jews. Wait wait, WHAT???? grade school history class????!!!! Righttt, I learned that the holocaus...

Re: Hitler's gas chambers mere fiction?
If you haven't read it how can you know how much bs it has? It certainly has the most racism and hate in it. [/quote] It may very well have the most racism and hate in it but that doesn't particularly matter to me. I may read it one day, however, at this point I don't feel the need to read another ...

Re: Blind religious belief in science
As far as I can tell light would be measured as going at the speed of light no matter where you are measuring from. The person in the car would measure his headlights as going at the speed of light, however, so would someone on a planet. I don't know if he would be seeing the light from his headligh...

Re: Hitler's gas chambers mere fiction?
Haha, it's not ME who watches it like that, it's the 90% of imbeciles that I talk to that do, "oh my goddd that's sooo bad oh my god I can't believe it.....Let's donate billions to Israel." And yet movies still don't force anyone to believe anything. Just because there are plenty of peopl...

Re: Blind religious belief in science
In my example, the driver of the car isn't really "viewing" the speed of light - not directly, at least - but is calculating it, based on two separate measurements. If the overall (combined) measurement is useful to him, then I don't think it can be invalidated . . . Though it's difficult...

Re: Blind religious belief in science
Except mathematically the speed of light is constant no matter what reference point you view light from. I remember my high school physics teacher showing that on the blackboard... That doesn't mean that nothing can travel faster than light just that according to our current mathematical understandi...

Re: Hitler's gas chambers mere fiction?
Uhh yeah, say that to Steven Spielberg, with his lousy and unaccurate and overly dramatic holocaust propaganda movies. Overly dramatic holocaust movies don't force anyone to do anything. If you watch movies as if they are serious portrayals of history that is your problem but I have no trouble watc...

Re: Hitler's gas chambers mere fiction?
Actually it referred to "catastrophe" especially when a lot of people died because of it. Didn't even have to be murder. That makes more sense. In that context something like a volcano or earthquake could be a "holocaust" and I'm fairly sure I've heard that usage before. But the...

Re: Hitler's gas chambers mere fiction?
I must have been taught a different meaning of "The Holocaust" than some of you because I was taught that it encompassed all of the people who were deliberately killed/imprisoned while the Nazi's were in power. Then, sometime in the 1960's the Jewish experience of WWII was named The Holoca...

I have a friend who can't stand to be prove wrong. When I point out he is wrong he'll argue quite vehemently until he feels he has confused the topic enough or gotten me to admit I could be wrong. Occasionally he'll parrot what I said at a later date and claim that he's always known it if I challeng...

Re: The Value of Religion
People who are religious are better off with it than without it. If you grow up deferring moralistic decisions to some other entity then you're brain will be stuck in such a path and you'll be unable to make your own moral determinations without using your religion as a crutch. Since this type of pe...

Re: I just broke your toys :(
It means that it isn't tautological to say that things must have prior causes. All that sets up is asking me to prove something I couldn't possibly understand and likely wouldn't recognize. The gist of such an argument is that I can't prove all things need causes so something could happen without a...
