Re: Magic gamers, where are you?

What I meant to say is I could not afford them. Keeping up with the never-ending expansions was impossible, and I couldn't be competitive woult the latest cards.

Yeah, sometimes once you spill the milk, it doesn't go back in the bucket. Our indigenous also seem to have a hard time agreeing on what should be done to improve their conditions.

Re: Industrial Society Destroys Mind and Environment

Sushil's a dedicated guy - I've known of him for years and he never gives up. And yes, the issues he is pointing to are important, unless we plan on moving to another planet sometime soon. He gets banned and accused of spamming more than I've seen anyone else be willing to put up with. We actually n...

Re: how to think like a genius

Actually, I think like an idiot about half the time. I have some very wrinkly ego residuals that are probably going to take a lifetime of steam-ironing. But thinking like a "genius" at least some of the time is not terribly hard. Actually, all one really has to do is learn how to think cor...

Re: Why causality is an illusion

Is the idea that "everything boils down to probability and randomness" itself absolutely true? Or just a matter of probability? I think it is currently considered pretty much unshakable in the scientific community, but then again, an honest scientist would be forced to admit that "un...

Re: The Century of the Self

I'll get on board with the idea of Dan being one of the best writers around here, for sure. He really is very good - even the scripts he writes for the video format are top-notch. Of course, it should go without saying that this doesn't mean I agree with everything he writes, although I do agree wit...

Hi Alex, thanks for your response. I don't have anything particular to add here, except that I do agree reading can be overdone. As Dan stated, if all we do is read, when are we going to think? I did most of my reading when I was younger, and nowdays only occassionally crack a book. I have the intel...

Re: New blog site: Genius Realms

Be very careful of drug experiences, particularly weed and LSD. They can so easily deceive the mind, and they can lead you to think that you are far more enlightened than you really are. "You reached for the secret too soon", sang Roger Waters of Syd Barrett's downfall. I will second this...

David,

Why do you insist on the term "genius?" Do you not realize it is obvious troll bait, or do you simply not care, or do you feel the ends justify the means?

I'm just curious.

Re: Consciousness and the Tao - James Quirk

You guys have to admit, Kevin kind of went off the rails in this one as well. His "70% enlightened" claim was odd. But I'm not claiming I did well, either. This was actually kind of a piss-poor show all around - I've heard others that were better (but not Victor's, his was even stupider th...

Re: The Century of the Self

Dan's okay. One just has to learn how to take his comments. He has a wry sense of humor and can be very candid. I remember once he called my house and started cussing out my ex-girlfriend, which was in fact a heroic act for which he should be awarded a sizable gold medal. Of course, at the time, I h...

That's odd, I was just trying to find that jazz thing tonight. It appears to have dissappeared down the intertubes somewhere. So you're a fellow guitar noise maker, eh? Don't you hate how people say it's all about sex? It's all about self-expression. Piss on them all I guess. They can either listen ...

Also, I just want to agree with thosed who have pointed out that Judaism is a religion, not a "race." I'm really sick of being called "racist" for criticizing Israel and/or Zionism, although at the same time, I'm also pretty used to it by now. Happens just about every time. "...

Fact is, other than Israelites, nobody likes Zionism or Israel (other than the rich elites who profit from it). Pretty much everybody who is non-Zionist is wise to the wicked ways of that apatheid state, including some Jews: http://www.ijsn.net/home/ http://www.nkusa.org/ http://www.jewsnotzionists....

Re: Palestine: from the fall of the Ottomans to Today

Here's the truth, guys. Israel is a fake state propped up by the countries who the ZIonists own - and that's pretty much all of them. USA and UK are primary players, but pretty much every first world nation must accept Zionist rule or they simply aren't a first-world nation. It's not PC, but them's ...

Diebert, perhaps you're right. I don't dispute it. I haven't written anything particularly substantial in years.

I do feel about ripe to pen another big one, though. I really do think something worthwhile is coming soon.

Kunga's new avatar looks to me like a galaxy in the shape of an eye. I'd make the associations "starry-eyed" or "eye in the sky". I wouldn't make the association Dennis has made. Kunga has never exploited her sexuality in that way on this forum, and I don't expect her to start t...

Wow, do any of you guys know anything about anything? Not an insult - just curious. I'm wondering if I know anything about anything myself, having waded into what appears to be a rather nasty ego contest. It's been interesting to read, though. Alex's command of thge English language is as impressive...
