Re: Taxes...
How much in goods do you think you'd get for your new money?I think you'd be lucky if that million dollars was worth 10 dollars. Why does the value of goods have to go up? The goods' value doesn't change, the currency's value drops. Currencies are commodities and supply and demand determine their v...

Re: Taxes...
The government both taxes and creates fiat currency to extract maximal wealth without enough people catching onto the scam to end it. If the government only creates money everyone quickly sees through its ruse. If the government taxes too much the citizens revolt. Instead the government levies taxes...

Hands up all those who think it would be a great idea for Tomas and Daybrown to have their own blog somewhere? Anyone know of a good blog site? Let "them" have one thread, is real estate on this forum really that scarce? What is the big deal? Make Spam forum maybe where all posts deemed u...

Re: Creation of a true artificial intelligence?
When do you all believe we will have the world's first truly intelligent AI? And when do you believe we will have an AI that matches a human's ability? Please give a reason for your choice. Unpredictable. I think all it will take is for a genius-type person to sit down and do it - possibly when som...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mole_(unit) Wikipedia says: "The mole [is a] unit that measures an amount of substance." That's why I ask: What's the point in using a mole when we already have have grams? In other words, grams measures an amount of a substance just fine, so what's the point ...

I wonder how long it will be before fusion power becomes viable. Fusion, the nuclear process that lights up the sun, is the energy source of the future and always will be. Victor, where did you see that ITER has a positive EROEI? edit: I see on wikipedia that ITER's expected to produce excess heat.
