Re: Announcing "TheAbsolute TV"
For some reason, I can now make 60 minute videos. God forbid I ever do so, of course, but I did notice it. I really would be interested in seeing "The Reasoning Show" and other projects of that nature revived. It seemed to be going almost incredibly well, and then... bloop. Flushed. Nothin...

Hi Dennis, are you referring to Alex as "never having had an original thought?" If so, I'm not sure about that charge, although I will admit he does seem to go off on a lot of Crowley-esque tangents... Although I really wouldn't want to insult Alex that way - Crowley was obviously a huckst...

Re: Why causality is an illusion
Causality is very clearly "classicly" true, at the macroscopic level. Whether or not causality holds at the quantum level is a matter of significant debate. I have seen David Quinn argue that it does, but with little reference to actual science. However, I do not believe it is yet a decide...

BTW, Alex, you are good with prose and are a talented writer, but most of what you wrote made little sense and a good deal of it sounded somewhat schizophrenic. I am not saying this to offend you, but rather to draw your attention to the issue.

Re: I, Unidian, "Naturyl," James Quirk, am enlightened.
There's a drama, which is the suffering, forms it, nurtures it, oozes it and also dissolutes it. This is why all inquiries for a fix will need awareness of the drama. Diebert is right. Or, as Chuang Tsu put it, "that which causes us to toil in life rests us in death." It's really the best...

Re: I, Unidian, "Naturyl," James Quirk, am enlightened.
Rationality is important to bear in mind because it can lead to the truth. The Hindus and other old dead people called this "jnana yoga." Rational inquiry can be a path to self-realization, although it is the hardest of all paths and demands the most from the seeker. It also tends to ignor...

Oh, and selenium. Take it if you drink flouridated water. It flushes flouride out. You don't want a petrified pineal gland. People running around with a major brain structure rendered disabled (especially the one traditionally associated with spiritual insight) is a possible reason Americans (who fl...

Re: how can i achieve good health for a good mind
In other words, it is not enough to be erudite or learned or scholarly or academic about eternal philosophical/spiritual ideas such as non-duality, but to feel their POWER, and PERSONALLY, and to let them completely TRANSFORM your entire being. This is correct, and is in fact possible, but it only ...

I've had many disagreements with David over many years, but I'm not sure what he did to provoke that remark.
The essay he points to is worth reading, and does raise some important points.

Re: I, Unidian, "Naturyl," James Quirk, am enlightened.
There is a human logic and a logic of peace. The human logic is A=A (a thing is a a thing, it is what it is and not something else, dependent origination, cause and effect, consciousness). It is rationally unassailable. The logic of peace is A=B (or A=Z) - a thing is what it is not, and everything e...

Re: Animism
Dan dislikes Tibetan Buddhism, for the record. Personally, I do feel a great deal of attraction to shamanistic practices. They unlock realms of the subconscious and unconscious mind that are rarely accessed, and which can be very valuable in spiritual development - provided we aren't fooled by the n...

Even though it often sucks, this is indeed the best possible world. If that seems shocking, you should ask yourself what other *workable* options exist in the context of this particular space-time continuum, such as it is.

Do you notice that you are assuming what you are denying. first you say "I" and then "not I" where "not I" is equivalent to "do not exist" , violating the very axiom (that of identity) that you later give examples of. I just read you thread on descartes and i...

It's all good people. I got un-enlightened, and then enlightened again. Even more fun. I think today I will try to get at least 10% more enlightened. Where's Prince/Blair with his enlightenment scale? I'm still mad that gave me and my ex the same score.
