Re: So I composed this never heard stanza
do you really want love and kisses? I must've missed something =) a slap to a buddha would be no more than a rings in a pond, but if you bow to a monk without a strong will, he may end up fooled further. If the monk is yourself, what good is bowing to yourself? If you bow to your buddha nature, then...

Re: Making finite seem infinite and infinite seem finite?
time as a whole, as the Universe, can't be created. This is simple since the act of creating time would be time itself, and thus since any attempt to create time IS time itself, time can't have a beginning. You said something about a creation of time earlier.

U can give credence to the statement by silence though, yes/no is not the only option. Or you could ask the student why he is attaching himself and asking these questions rather than learning to swim for himself. On the premise that the student knows what the ego means, and is aware of his ignorance...

Re: Ordained over the internet
actually, it's not the lack of age restriction that disturbs me. Technically a young person can be much wiser than an old person. It's really about personal credentials based on experience you ought to look for in a priest / wiseman / holyman. For the purpose of sustaining a credible and effective c...

what are you talking about? can you define life? You know what is being said here. If you cannot define life, and it is life you are living, how can you enter this conversation without defining your position? it sounds like you've had an intuitive perception of the way things work, a kind of insight into nature. Where are you from? is english a secondary language? anyway, you said in the first post "So now I am here trying to learn something new, from people I have never met. What I am hoping is tha...

loving things as if they were permanent will cause hate, just as hate will cause love, trust in the Infinite, which is neither anywhere nor nowhere.

infinite existence? how so? concepts themselves arent immortal....how do you wish to assign immortality to things that are only present due to causes that may one day be gone?
that's wishful thinking that your concepts of mind are themselves infinite and immortal...

Re: Socialized Psychopath Taking Questions
Hi Anders, Hmm, an interesting (perhaps overly semantic) question. I would argue that so-called pure logic needs to happen in a calm context. I don't think there's any way to escape that. This contention of yours seems to imply that the mind can somehow separate entirely from the body, in a manner ...

The philosophical god is not a thing of some kind, but the whole of Reality. The Christian religious god as most people see him, is a sort of fantasy image, a thing/finitized appearance of Reality, but christians are mostly blind to see the difference. By abandoning the belief in gods that don't mak...

Erhm, there may be a trillion ways to see the world, but then, we can't know since there is just the world that you experience. I agree somewhat that since we live in our own consciousness, what others say need not cause much anxiety since it's just God and his games. We're doing what we can with th...

Re: Socialized Psychopath Taking Questions
Well, i wouldn't call being calm an emotion, not neccesarily. Purely logical thought to me is the mind coming to a logical conclusion based on thought, without any disturbances, and that ofcourse would be meaningless without poor thought that is incoherent and unable to come to logical conclusions.....

well, people around are at the mercy of their causes, and so, ultimately, they are blameless in thinking the way they do, they are like boats without drivers, being taken where-ever the wind goes. When the helpless boat bumps into another driver-less boat, it will not be blamed, as your words bump i...

please, any woman that lets herself be controlled is in no way modern, but extremely primitive as a human being, yet it's men who are controlled by their desires, so a man controlling a woman is really being controlled, if you will. plus, its absurd that a man has to control or restrain himself *bef...

I wouldn't mind donating a few cents for every intelligent thing written. That would be a good way to sponsor intelligence. Aye, but hey, in this world, intelligence is hardly as good as shameless advertising if you need money to feed your kids, given the awful situations people put themselves in. ...
