Re: beyond the infinite

Perhaps this will clarify this containment issue: I once read a definition of God (Totality, Infinite) as. 'Having its center everywhere and circumference nowhere."

Re: Time and Causality

I was thinking about the possibility of time travel recently, and as time goes by I'm becoming less open to the idea. Knowing time is our own subjective measurement of change, and that The All is right here and now, there is actually no past or future to travel to. Thus, the idea that time travel i...

Re: Neverlution

What do you think? That's what's so tricky about the empirical world when you start to look at cause and effect. The only conclusion one can arrive at with certainty is to know the thing is caused (at the very least it is caused to appear to our mind), as to what thing is the predominant cause of a...

Re: Bouncing Matrices

Words and labels are tools at best. Once the tools have been used to dismantle the thought-constructed reality, revealing things as relative, one finds all words and forms to be fundamentally arbitrary, that is the importance of their signifying attributes are found to be arbitrary, and mutually con...

Re: The spirit, the camel, the lion, and the child

The Camel represents the taking on of the apparent burden of a Truthful existence, representing a sort of dark night of the soul where all things toiling and heavy are taken on. The water of life that is truth will sustain the Camel through the barren land of finitude which has been sucked dry of th...

Re: Superherology

The Thing is having an identity crisis. Man, woman... it? I think it's more than that, with the Thing's overly masculine tough guy exterior, it looks to me that masculinity is being equated and relegated by the subconscious to helplessly rage against the ugliness and finality of finitude. He's cons...

Re: Neti, Neti

Does "Neti, neti" arise spontaneously in the mind? At least at first, it must not. It seems to me that in order for it to be effective, issuing the neti, neti when a thought begins to arise requires at the very least the thought itself, the neti-neti response, and the issuer of that respon...

The Hindu sages would exclude thingness and prevent attachment to it from their mind through the process of 'neti, neti' (not this, not this), henceforth "the process". By rejecting every thought that came to mind they sought to realize Enlightenment. If not repeated verbally or mentally, ...

Last I heard, at least regarding hypnotic regression into memories about alien abduction, for instance, is that they have been utterly dismissed by the scientific community for the unreliability of the chosen method. It's past my bed time, but before I go, |read|, how did you arrive at axioms being "alogical"? I think that's a misnomer. An axiom isn't without logic or logical components, but rather is the logical conclusion of the application of the Law of Identity (A=A).

Serial killers might believe more firmly in the inherent existence of things than the average person does. I have often seen that most serial killers do not, in fact, view their victims as humans, as individuals, as egos, but rather as things . Perhaps it is through the apparent infinitude of emoti...

Evil: a thing, and as such does not ultimately exist (see: imaginary). I don't see the concept of evil as a useful tool in the higher functions of wisdom. It is only useful for those more unconscious than conscious, and even then it is a dangerous plaything of the masses; it all too easily becomes t...

Re: The Real Threat to Consciousness

As with most of TSZ, I think Nietzsche was being metaphorical when speaking about warring. Yes and no. If I would channel Nietzsche I'd say that military warfare is just a metaphor for deeper, more hidden and "real" struggles and issues that a human life generates. War then becoming the s...
