Re: Overcoming torture

I'd say it's because you're fully aware of what you're doing and why, so it dampens/negates the effects of self-hypnosis. But then, that's a wild guess from someone who isn't a professional. Specifically I'm aware of the pain which I will be putting myself through. Implying a person under hypnosis ...

Re: Overcoming torture

I imagine there are techniques the CIA teach to help their agents resist torture. Keep in mind that there is a wide spectrum of what constitutes torture. Loud noises preventing sleep for instance can be torture. Hypnosis has seemed to be effective in mitigating painful events. Have a look https://yo...

Re: Notions of 'objective reality' that keep me troubled - temporal events

Consider temporal events that are too quick for to be 'discerned' via direct conscious perception and memory, due to human limitations. Take for example, a vibrating high pitched tuning fork. The individual vibrations could be 'inferred' as a set number of physical displacements over a period of ti...

Re: The Real Climate Debate

I'm skeptical it is even possible to reverse direction. Asia is coming online with billions of people eager to live a Western lifestyle. The West is on the precipice of economic collapse which will likely be blamed on Trump leading to the American Proletariat finally waking up after all these years....

If the medicine helps him, then he might as well take it. We are little different from ancient man searching for alternative food sources in new and various environments. I recall reading somewhere that a shaman was once asked how they found the right combination of plants in ayahuasca. He said the ...

Re: Increase in Suicides Among Young People

Suicidal waves are often linked to social upheavals, connected to the rate of change, to the common unsettling. The classic case of Vienna during the Hapsburg Empire collapse and ruthless advance of a more industry centered society. At some places this could have been more concentrated than at othe...

Re: Increase in Suicides Among Young People

Just think about how life was a few hundred years back in Bavaria or wherever. Almost everyone worked the land and stayed within the reach of a village, life mostly revolved around the family (no TV or gaming console or PC). There was far less time for idleness and the free time was collected and u...

Christ is the answer

Repent of your sins and turn your heart to Christ We naturally think of ourselves as human bodies which are separated by space and exist in time, but there also exists space/time within us, not because there is naturally a space but because God through Christ breathed this space into everyone. There...

Who is the slave?

For years I was commanding myself to do things. I command you body, do this, do that. My body was my slave, and that was satisfactory for a time. But now I have been violently awakened. I now know that it was God the whole time. I have thought, perhaps it would have been better to keep me asleep. Th...

Re: Glostik. What my name means

Change happens every day in every person in every time and in every space. When I looked at the world I saw a very sick, twisted, perverted, and dying world. A world in which the deserts have grown to enormous proportions. I worry about the vast and growing deserts. I worry about the vast and ever e...

There is a God! This is absolutely true. This is not a trick. This is not a deception. This is the absolute truth. There is a God. He is the Infinite. There is no me. I have dissolved into Him. Re: What my name means

I have lived as an innocent glostik, dirty, on the side of the road, but I have been broken, shaken, thrown around, and misused. Now see me glow. The Lord has witnessed great wickedness. He has placed the whole world's wickedness upon this vessel. I have taken greed. I have taken lust. I have taken ...

I've had that sort of death experience before. One other time I consumed the drug DMT. I recall a vision of an ugly hunched over creature who pointed its gnarled claw at me. Re: What my name means

I once came across a philosopher named Pythagoras, yet I found that unfortunately there is practically nothing left of his work to analyze. Nevertheless I didn't let that stop me, and in my search I came across a sliver of information. Pythagoras required his students to perform a 40 day water fast ...
