Re: Crucifixion
Why are you trying to find the reason for pain and death when they just are? Everything that could ever be imagined is being played out, that is the reason. Accept it moment by moment, never ever let the phantoms of past and future enter your mind. All that exists is the moment, live in it, observe ...

Re: With only one consciousness, reality cannot be confirmed
"Looks like" ^ looks like direct insight in action. All logic is a result of insight, correct? Everything, every logical conclusion, is drawn from and based on direct insight. Language can't be used to describe what you know from insight. Not even thoughts can comprehend what you see or fe...

Re: With only one consciousness, reality cannot be confirmed
Pretty damn good. Couldn't really describe all the benefits to you, but you should take it up as a daily practice. There is no better decision you could make. "Seeker! Do not be restless. Meditate constantly. Or you will swallow fire And cry out: "No more!' If you are not wise, How can you...

Re: With only one consciousness, reality cannot be confirmed
And that conclusion came from direct insight into my own experience of drawing conclusions.
Logic is what we use to interpret what comes from insight.
Thus, meditation and observation is the key to all understanding, as this is the art of tuning in to your direct insight.

Re: A God Argument
My God Argument: Anyone that thinks we came about with no intention/planning/design is an idiot. You can't see, you can't think. I truly am sorry, but once you accept that, maybe you can move on. Random and unplanned are only concepts we made up :) The concepts themselves are wrong. No such thing ex...

Re: With only one consciousness, reality cannot be confirmed
Actually, logic can only clear us of delusion. Logic cannot bring us to realization. That looks like misinformation. The realisation is the conclusion afforded by the logical investigation, comes out of the investigation. the conclusion is the logic, the realisation is the logic. Dennis, Beingof1 w...

Re: With only one consciousness, reality cannot be confirmed
Eric Orwell You don't choose to believe there is an external word because of mathematics. You choose to believe there is an external world because you made the assumption that all the other people actually have perspectives and aren't just manifestations of you. Solipsism goes beyond mathematics bec...

Eric
It is me creating it, as much as its me writing this. The differences being that I have no control over what I create or what I write.
Language is much too restricted to properly discuss this kind of thing, I think.

Re: With only one consciousness, reality cannot be confirmed
Being is a property of all things, all things are a property of Being. Seems like world play, but examine; The property of being is characteristic of all things, all things belong to this one pandimentional property. Go backward through the projected time dimension and see that all things are Being...

It is an expression of a higher consciousness, you are part of it. If your the type that thinks its unplanned or came about accidently, let's not discuss :p

Re: How can I be completely desire-free?
-Eric No it does not imply we have free will. It is simply another result of the Tao that we are experiencing. We still have the ability to act, the only difference is we are the tao acting, the ego is the illusion. And I can create realities within myself I did it this morning. While conscious. Pic...

Re: How can I be completely desire-free?
Deibert Yeah that makes sense, the distinction between good and bad is one I have created. Altough the distinction between truth and untruth always exists, its not for me to say why it isn't known I guess. Dan Rowden Meditating helps me learn to view my experience of the moment, practicing as an obs...

Re: How can I be completely desire-free?
Cahoot + Tenver I've looked into desire and attachment and have overcome most of it. Even the desire for the sensual experience. Yet even tho I have learnt more about life in the last year than I could have imagined, and spend almost every moment in awe of the miracle I am part of, my stomach still ...

Re: WHAT ARE we GOING TO DO?
Oxy Everything you said is completely correct, and I agree that NOTHING is being done. If anything it is only getting worse, I can't imagine how much longer our species survives at this rate. So then how do we give people this understanding? How do we free them from a system that is designed to hold...

Re: How can I be completely desire-free?
If I went with the flow now and didn't worry at all, then It is true that eventually I wouldn't have food or shelter, then what? Do I forget the flow and start following orders and chasing after money for my whole life? Even if I only earn the minimum, that number increases when I need my own home o...

Re: Meditation & Desire
-Liquid I live in Syndey Australia and there are some nearby monasteries but I am not sure if they would accept me to live with them out of nowhere? If they do then I am very open to this suggestion. Although, as much as I think the Buddha was spot on. I don't think adhering to the exact principles ...

How can I be completely desire-free?
- A question for anyone reading I have considered this for very long and found that if I chase after money then I might as well be saying I am planning to chase after it my whole life. I am not the kind to fall into the same trap I see everyone else in, but I don't know my alternatives? Do i truly g...

I'm here because I am caught in attachment and desire and don't know whats best for me enough to go do it :) That's the truth, although I am making progress toward giving things up, including never ending discussion on forums! I posted something about this on the other topic.

Re: Meditation & Desire
I live a very desire free life, I have nothing and want nothing. The people around me don't have the same views as me, and the only point they make is continuing to ask me the question, what about food and shelter? - Eric, I completely agree, but I was referring more to getting caught in anger, worr...
