Re: Another Wisdom Test
Well, that's 8 minutes of my life I'll never get back. You didn't say how you scored, Dan! I scored a 202, but that's only because of the first section of the test where you get all those points for having a copy of the works they mention. I happen to have the CD from sacredtexts.com, which has eve...

Re: Aussie Open
I am watching(listening to) the 2nd telecast of the match right now. Am I listening to Maria Sharapova having sex, or Maria Sharapova playing tennis? It sounds like she's getting the butt end of her tennis racket jammed up her a$$, every time she hits the ball. That's all the philosophy I can come u...

Re: More Hot News out of Australia!
I will explain it to you then. The link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10b9iNdHuUc points to a youtube music clip where Eminem sings (cleaning out my closet) and the background music track is "what's going on?!" performed by group "4 non blondes". The two genres are like two sep...

Re: Aussie Open
I guess Wile e. Coyote got the best of Bugs Bunny, or maybe it's Elmer Fudd this time! Good thing all I lose is my pride, and I will live on to fight another day. I actually didn't watch it, because I was exhausted, went to sleep. I will try to catch the encore performance today, and give a little m...

Okay, thanks for humoring me :)
Phew! Bet's off because the match starts in 10 minutes.
Laird, I guess this one is just about the bragging rights this time.

Interesting that there could even be a penalty, considering that everything is digital here.Dan Rowden wrote:A tasteful penalty is surely a contradiction in terms.

Re: Being a Wise Dreamer?
Does that make sense? It seems that while awake I can function rationally and with some wisdom, yet my dreams are filled with vivid fears, irrationality and just crazy shit that I can't figure out. I don't give them much thought, they don't worry me, but it would be nice to have some symmetry betwe...

Re: Aussie Open
I have a sneaking suspicion that Sharapova is going to win anyway, so I will cowardly back out of the initial proposition. plus, I think you would come up with something that wouldn't be all that tasteful to the loser (ie. me).Dan Rowden wrote:If you need a third party to decide on that let me know.

Re: Aussie Open
Buns, I'm gonna decline your offer of a wager but only because I can't think of an appropriate penalty for the losing party. Can you? What was wrong with my suggestion? yeah, you are prob. right that we could just skip that idea, but still I am excited to find another tennis fan on the message boar...

Re: Aussie Open
I'm going for the 4th seed over Sharapova Dude. Sharapova all the way. Not only is she a babe, but at her best she's awesomely unbeatable. Did you watch her win her first title at Wimbledon a few years back? Un-be- lievable display of indomitable power and skill. I don't even know her opponent but ...

Re: Aussie Open
Note to all that the Women's final is at 9:30 est, probably on ESPN. Unfortunately, my girlfriend, Hantachova, has been eliminated, so it is Sharapova (5th seed) versus 4th seed(I forget her name, but she's not bad looking either). I'm going for the 4th seed over Sharapova, hopefully I can remain aw...

Re: Another Wisdom Test
I scored low, probably just because I didn't really focus on it, but then at the end didn't it seem to say that lower was a better score? I can't say I actually took the test, but I think I would have been toward the first one, which said something, but I forgot to copy the answer they gave me.

Sorry, I'm on dial-up, so I can't do any of the youtube stuff. For the sake of being pleasant, I will assume that you aren't Tomas, because all of that conversation is going to be as limited as I can possibly make it. Also, that would be pretty dishonest of the Administrators if they are letting you...

RR: Thank you for the link. I am surprised that you were indeed correct. I am overly skeptical sometimes. Re: Aussie Open
Federer was ousted at the Aussie Open in the semifinals, only about 15 minutes ago. Why is this important? because he has dominated the game of tennis on the men's side for the past 4 years. For people unfamiliar with tennis, there are four major tournaments each year. Wimbledon, Aussie Open, U.S. O...

Re: An interesting political development: Iran respects Ron Paul
I wish my country had welfare. There would be a lot more peace of mind. People could walk down the streets at night without fearing for their lives. That is worth higher taxes to me. - I'm curious what country you live in that doesn't have a welfare system. I would have thought most civilized natio...

Re: An interesting political development: Iran respects Ron Paul
For instance: According to Statistics Canada, in 1995, ~ 3, 000, 000 people were on welfare that year, which is 10% of the population. And that seems a little high to me, as I wonder how many are abusing the system, and don’t actually need it, but only use it because its so easy to acquire. That ...

Leyla, I never said capitalism, the free market, or anything else for that matter would "solve everything". What I explained through out this thread is an alternative form of Government compared to the one's in existence now, and the ones that existed in the past. And while I understand a...
