Re: Ego Dynamics

When you discover the existence of a thief, the thief goes away. That's the way it is with the ego. Hi! Exactly this. My question would be: what kind of thoughts would be necessary to let the thief get interested such that I can stumble upon the act. Need I lower my threshold of observation? Or jus...

Re: Ego Dynamics

Well, if ego is an "construct", then this construct is an individual problem? What happened to the "ego hammer" of the indian guru (The Guru has a harder time with us occidentals). And if there is a way to enlightenment, which is imperative to me, then there are some dynamics. So...

Re: Ego Dynamics

I'm a little surprised you ask this considering the rather large list of resources you have on your own website. But I think you could read any Zen texts, The Thinking Man's Minefield, Genius News, or just hang around here a while. What aspect of the nature of the ego are you wanting to explore? Hi...

Ego Dynamics

Well, I can think. But I can also Ask and after that Inquire.

I sometimes have higher states of mind/consciousness however I lose it within a couple of days.

I do not know why.

What do I for example need to read to come to understand the ego more precisely?

Regards!

Re: Transcription from a private forum elsewhere to discuss here

I like the initiative cat10542, [Pretty good translation] You believe that Freud was one of these people. He understood the world through intuitive introspection and was able to translate his understanding to others through his work. But we still needed others to expound on his ideas. (End of rewrit...

Re: Transcription from a private forum elsewhere to discuss here

How do you know someone is physically delusional or decompensating?

The one with medication is forcing a chemical structure (thus changing functionality?) and the other really helps someone dealing with his predispositions.

Re: Transcription from a private forum elsewhere to discuss here

Very interesting stuff guys. And just at the right time. Justin, what remedy do you prescibe to those who have trouble articulating their mental landscape? I can highly relate to being unable to express myself when immersed in highly abstract imagery. So I tend to spout self-referencing jargon (&qu...

Re: The Most Important Philosophical Question

Laugh, the title assumes "importance" so "The most important philosophical question" is the question that is seen as most important. This can be researched with quantitative methods and does NOT help philosophy further ahead. It takes 1 person and some shoulders stand on for the ...

As I suspected...! Btw, why do you mention schizophrenia, so often? Are you ill? Psychology student? An active member of these forums, with a new identity? Huh! HUH! Tell me...!-.-! Uh oh. I want to study philosophy and then dive into a theology master so that I can help humans. I want to dive into...

Hi RalphPL! I'm going to analyse my own things through the pieces you broke down. Before I do that, I'd like to communicate a few things with you: You seem to not be very patient when you write, so you end up trying to insert too my thoughts, without enough connections, so others may/do not understa...

Re: Enlightenment vs Art

My definition of art is that it grabs you by the throath and Keeps you watching for longer moments. My definition of religion is that which combine a big amount of doxata and dogmata into a conglomerate of ideas where everyone who does not want to see the bigger picture outside (heideggerian science...

Hi! I do not think there is an oneness of mind/body/etc intrinsically, I suppose culture also needs to become adult and sage afterwards, so, not only the baby becomes todler and todler becomes child etc, no also society becomes. Problem is, how to grow consciousness and to accept your subconscious a...
